Dear Members, Friends, and Supporters of EDSA,

I wanted to let you know that today, Thursday, November 16, 2006, on the Dr.
Phil show the topic of discussion are eating disorders. One guest (woman)
who he speaks with on today's show is a compulsive exerciser and the second
guest (woman) is anorexic. I ask you to please remember that women and girls
are NOT the only sex who struggles with eating disorders. Where I/we live his
show comes on channel 2 (KCBS) at 4:00 p.m., PST (1600). Please check your
cable/satilight guide to see the channel it is on and the time his show
Aires.
For those who are miss this episode and would like to see it I will be
willing to record it for you just let me know if you are interested.

I have done the same with the HBO Documentary, "Thin" which premiered on
Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at 9:00 p.m., EST, but here it aired on at 6:00
p.m., PST (1800). Again, for those who where unable to watch this documentary
and
would like to view it please let me know and I would be willing to record it
for you. I do not expect payment for those who would like me to record a
show(s) that they have missed. Out of good conscious I cannot accept payment
and besides it would be considered illegal.

For those who have offered to pay me to record TV programs I thank you and
appreciate your offer. However, when it comes to money my mother, Lynda and I
would like it to go towards a fund that will aid those people and/or their
familles who do not have the financial ability to pay for treatment from this
disease which is deadly if untreated, i.e., treatment centers. We are
looking into options for this to be accomplished.

There is light at the end of the dark whole. There is life without eating
disorders. I am living proof of that. I feel that you have experience with
eating disorders because you are dealing with it on a daily basis and in my
personal opinion that is the best experience one can gain next to actually
struggling with eating disorder (e/d). Eating disorders are not solely about
food and there is always a sole reason/root cause and please be aware that
eating disorders effects the entire family (no matter the age of the family
member
or location), friends, and loved ones', etc. Children of parents who are
struggling with eating disorders are at a very high risk of developing an
eating disorder themselves. This is one reason why you should get help. Diets
and exercising can become out of control and the next thing you know you are
struggling with an eating disorder (e/d). Eating disorder is a very sneaky
disease. Has anyone ever really looked at the word diet closely? I know I
have
and this is what I have found (which you cannot miss): diet = die et. Not a
pleasant word. Huh?

Since you know that eating disorder is a disease let me ask you this
question for you to ponder. Cancer, endometriosis, diabetes, heart disease,
asthma,
chronic pain, are just six diseases (6) that I will use as examples. If you
were diagnosed with any of these diseases you would get treatment. Correct?
Why is it so difficult for you to get treatment for your eating disorder?
I believe that I already know the answer(s) that most people would give
because I have been where you and/or your loved ones' are. Perhaps, you may
already have one of the diseases that I used as examples. FYI, both my mother,
Lynda and I have endometriosis and we are consultants for the EA (Endometriosis
Association). I am a chronic pain pt. and advocate too.

Another thing, living with an eating disorder is just like living with an
abusive person who puts you down on a daily basis, does emotional and physical
damage, and can kill you if you do not leave the relationship.

I am more than willing to speak with any member and even non member of EDSA
who is struggling with an eating disorder. Everything you share with me
and/or my mother, Lynda, stays just between us.

If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns, please feel free to
contact me or us, i.e., e-mail or telephone. You may call me or us by dialing
our toll-free telephone number (eating disorders hotline ). If/when you do
call the toll-free telephone number (eating disorders hotline) and you happen
to get the voice mail we ask that you please leave a message, with a return
telephone number, and the best time to return you call. We welcome females
and males to reach out to us for support, advice, help, just to listen, etc.
We both will try to do our best to help you, but you have to able willing to
help yourself too.

You are NOT alone unless you want to be!

With Continuous Support and Advocacy Always,
