(runner), a law student, and then she become the wife of Federico Pena, the
mayor of Denver, CO. When President Clinton was elected Federico was named the
U.S. Secretary of Transportation. However, Ellen was hiding a secret, a
life-threatening secret, an eating disorder, from which she was able to keep
hidden from the world and even the person closest to her, her own husband. No
one, not even Ellen herself, knew that she was struggling with bulimia nervosa.
This disease almost took her life and the life of her and Federico's unborn
child.
Ellen Hart Pena, played by actress Crystal Barnard (TV Show, "Wings") and
Federico Pena, played by Esai Morales (TV Movie: "A Family in Crisis: The Elian
Gonzales Story"(2000), who played Juan Miguel Gonzalez.
