* Congressional cosponsors send letter to HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson
Wednesday, February 21, the cosponsors of HR 632, the Men's Health
Act of 2001, forwarded a letter to HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson
asking that he include funding for the Office of Men's Health in the
budget he sends to Congress.
A copy of the letter can be found at the OMH Resource Center at:

* What you can do to help pass this needed legislation
We are actively soliciting letters of support for the concept –
letters to Congress, not HHS.
Please consider having your organization write a letter of support on
the organization's letterhead – and ask each member to write
individual letters to their members of Congress. Also ask your
individual health care provider to write a letter.
Address organizational letters to:
Representative Randy "Duke" Cunningham
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, DC
And mail, fax, or e-mail them to MHN for consolidation and delivery –
Fax = 202-543-2727
E-mail = OMH@...
Postal = Men's Health Network – OMH Project – P.O. Box 75972 –
Washington, DC 20013
Organizational letters and letters from health professionals,
writers, and media personalities will be listed on the OMH Resource
Center at:
http://www.menshealthnetwork.org/support_letters.html
Individual letters should be sent to your members of Congress. MHN
makes it easy. Use the following link to write a quick and easy
letter:

This legislation is critical for the success of all men's health
concerns, including prostate health issues. The importance placed on
prostate cancer is reflected in the press conference presence of long
time activists and coalition members like Tom Bruckman, Betty Gallo,
Rick Atkins, MHN staff, and others. Ali Torre, wife of Joe Torre,
sent a note of support (you can read it at the OMH site).
The press conference was covered by the NY Times (Reuters),
Washington Post, Copley News Service, Men's Health Magazine, and
others.
