Trish:
That sounds great on the fruits and veggies. I just love to cook.
So I made a decision. I went to the fitness center that I am a member of.....
booked 5 sessions to meet with a trainer, for weigh in and measurements, also
locked myself in to taking three exercise classes a week, continue walking and hiking.
Keeping a food log. If I am accountable to someone else, I do better.
Filtered water is important. You got that right! April

Not only is my Metabolism slowing down, I am not workingas hard now & I feel as though my satiety is not met. I do not want to take drugs or hormones.I am trying to follow the rule of 70% is what we eat and 30 % is exercising. There are so many diets out there it makes me dizzy. Seeing that I am an out of the box thinker I have a hard time sticking to a "diet". Moderation is key. I notice that if I go out for a weekend and play, I rack on 3 lbs in a blink. April

You say you have problem with food. do you mean you eat to much food for your slow metabolism?Trish----- Original Message -----From: April Cray RhodesSent: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 9:58 AMSubject: Re: [menopausal] BalancingTrish:It is all trial and error. The hardest thing I have a problem with is food. My metabolism has slowed down and I am working with my mind ( satiety) and my body. I sometimes wonder is there is any type of herb or natural remedy for that synopsis. It is all in my brain and mixes up with the hormones. April

transforming, like that of when I was a teen, except I am embracing
wisdom and peace now. It has been three months now since I have had
a period. I have experienced nights sweats on & off for about 3
years now. I do not want to take hormones. Trying to eat right
can be furious. Always trying to get back on track, can't seem to
shake that last 10 pounds. Martial arts and boxing are two sports
that I am interested in and practice lightly these days. Walking in
the desert relaxes my spirit and calms my mind. I find my self
active and then I crash for a short spells of lounging, relaxing or
slothing.( dreaming of Dove bars )
My daughters are getting older and I sometimes feel alone. I
struggle through my mind as a transforming woman, trying to make
sense of it all through junk art, land scaping and lounging by the
river.
Some days are dark in my soul and many days are light and open.
I find that physical movement and keeping my mind creative keeps
depression away while honoring my mind and body in a concious way.
We all find what works for us in our own way, being aware of
avoiding self sabotage and trying to stay focused on embracing the
age of wisdom
through wellness.
