Hi Lynette. You sound to me like you are going through "perimenopause". The few years before menopause. I am 46 and now have been without a period since May of 2004, so I am now post menopausal. I started having unusual periods. If you can call them 'periods'! I would have brown spotting instead of the usual period ,for 7 days. Appox. 9 days after my latest period had started! Then I would stop for a few days, then start a period, so I know what you mean by a period all the time. I was told it was because I wasn't ovulating. That went on for about 5 yrs. (on and off). I too, was told at the time that I was too young, but guess what, they were wrong! After I had no period what so ever, and no spotting at all for 7 months, I had the blood test and it showed I was in fact menopausal. Even though your blood test shows otherwise, your hormones are fluctuating or you would not have irregular periods. It apparently just isn't enough for it to show
up on the tests. Since you have had everything checked out ok, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. I know that it is a pain to be so irregular, but there isn't really anything you can do , but to ride it out. I have hot flashes in the pm and sometimes during sleep. They seem to be getting less, but still very annoying! If you would like to talk about this any further, feel free to email me.Good Luck!
