recently met n fell in love with a wonderful man...but since i moved i no longer have insurance.. my homeopath recommended remifemin as a substitute for HRT...but i haven't tried it yet..perferring to tough it out on my own...in 04 i only had 5 periods..the last one was in Dec.. and it was the first time i ever had cramps with a cycle... then 2 weeks ago (my first cycle since Dec)...i could have swore I was in labor...only the cramps( on the 1 -10 pain scale they were 15s) were the worst pains i have ever had in my life...I just started to get rid of the rubber legged feeling and some strength back 2 days ago... then today..the cramps have started again...15 days after the last ones this time they haven't gotten as bad..yet... first thing tomorrow i am going to go pick up some remifemin...and see if that helps...if not then i will try the rejuvinate...
last summer my mate was diagnosed n treated for cancer ...and it will be 15 months before they will say he is in remission...so we rejoice in every day we get to be together...
after being celebate for over 7 yrs...(for us both) i feel awful having to refuse us both the enjoyment we get from one another...for any reason...
well thats enough from me...

Hi Suzanne.sorry I haven't replied sooner. As far as the hot flashes are for me I only have them on my face and neck. Hopefully they won't be any worse than that. But I don't have a clue as for my family background everyone on my mother's side that is old enough to go through it has had their overies removed or they have passed on. So I have no one to talk to just to get an idea when I might start memopause. hopefully I'm doing it now and get it over with. As for a dose of Prozac, that is some good stuff I hear but I won;t take any thing like that. so I just have to find other things that relaxe me. I usally do a lot of crocheting or computer games when I have a chance.; It keeps me from loosing my mind..(so far it helps). As for typing my fingers don't want to work for me................LOL. I think that is just me typing too fast..... You have a good day and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.Di

I have gone through this with nothing more than my synthroid and lots of tofu and awareness of foods affecting the hot flashes (avoid sugars/eat plenty of veggies/fruits, etc). I would suggest to you all, that really, this is a natural process and can be easily managed with a dose of prozac (ha).....good eating, exercising and the new sense of acceptance and calmness I beleive this stage of life brings.and as far as our memory..........or lack of it................thats difficut to accept!! be well to all

Hi Di...... How are you? I'm Sheila, I don't know how
long this menopause stuff last but at least for me the
periods have stopped now!!!! Thank God for that!!!! And
I too have hypothryodism... I take a version of synthroid
daily and as far as I know all's well with that! I still
have my PMS moods once in a great while now but that's
about it! I love menopause!!! no muss no fuss!!! I
can't take the hormone meds the doctor said I was to high
risk for breast cancer since that's what my FATHER died
from. It's extremely rare in men but they do get it! Of
course he was embarrassed by it and told everybody he had
lung cancer but being the macho man he was back in the
70's when he died I can understand it! So email me again
if you'd like to chat! Take care! Sheila
