Re: [meningioma] back on Dilatin

Hello there, There are other good seizure drugs that
work. I had a reaction to Dilantin, made my gums
bleed, blood pressure went way up, swelling in my
lower legs. Got off it and everything got better.
Started taking tegretol and tolerated it much better.
It did raise my Blood pressure some, but not like the
dilantin. I had seizure after surgery due to
swelling. Tumors can grow at any time and at varying
rates. There is no set rules for those things!
Sometimes tumors get more aggressive after surgery.
What was the pathology of her tumor? Did they get it
all or was some left behind? Any time cells are left
behind, you must watch them. Sometimes nothing every
happens and sometimes it does. I took tegretol for
almost 3 years, now I am off. right parietal lobe m,
lemmon size, removed 2-21-03, residual tumor on major
blood vessle. So far scar tissue but no new growth.
I only had the one seizure but it did cause some
damage and I have issues with my left side now but I
function well. Ask about other drugs...hugs Doo
