Re: [meningioma] brand new...tumor!

Hey Ken,

Yup your not alone here, most all of us have been through this or are going
throught it. First of all, don't freak out and don't be afraid, you have a
problem and negative emotions will not help in fighting this issue.

Listen to what your doctor will say about your condition, maybe bring a recorder
to the appointment. Get a copy of all your MRIs. Search the internet for your
answers, I found most of mine there. The falx separates the right side of the
brain from the left side and posterior means back. I was 38 when I had my tumor
removed and today I'm feelling as normal as ever with some small seizures in my
right arm sometimes, but that's relatively minor to what I was experiancing
before the tumor removal. I'm 39 now and also a male and my tumor was the same
volume as that of a baseball.

Questions to ask, what part of the brain is it affecting. Since it's relatively
small, they may be able to do radiation on it so you won't need surgery. Are
you feeling pain, do you have headaches or seizures? If you don't, the doc may
want to wait and see if it's growing or just remain dormant.

Remember each case is different and we are not doctors here or at least the ones
that are don't say so :), just common folks relaying our opinions and
experiances.

Hoping the best for you.
Zolt

Subject: [meningioma] brand new...tumor!

Hello everyone, my name is Ken...thank God for this group!!! I just found out
that I have a menningioma tumor on my falx posterior (?). It's about the size of
an olive. I'm freakin' out because I know nothing about this, plus I'm very much
afraid. I'm a normal health guy and only 46 years old. What gives? Just need to
know what i should be doing about this? What should I ask or say to the doctors?
What is the best and safest treatment? and how long will it take to heal?. I've
had an MRI and am being referred to a neurosurgeon tomorrow. Anything that you
can offer can HELP!!!
