having a baby after M dx, tumor not totally removed   Message List

Hi all:

I have one daughter, and when I was 8 months postpartum in 9/02 I
was diagnosed with a meningioma the size of a tangering. I have
since had 2 craniotomies, 30 radiation treatments and a shunt
placed. All is stable now with about 15% of original tumor still
there. Last week I traveled to see Dr. Peter Black at Brigham &
Women's hospital in Boston.
My hubby and I want another child but my NS here in FL says it isn't
wise since he says the tumor could grow again. Dr. Black says to go
for it that the risks aren't very much. My radiation oncologist
also says to go for it.
Does anyone here have experience with or know anyone who has with
this type situation? What do you all think?

Wanting another baby in Tampa,
Susie
