Sarah:
I have had meniere's for 17 years. When I first got it, they told me to do a
2000 mg of salf a day diet. I literally went to the store and started writing
down each item's number of mg of salt and found out it was almost impossible to
eat and keep under 2000mg a day!! Just one can a soup a day or any lunch meats
are your full day's supply of salt!
I have not heard of anyone having success on just the low salt diet, but than
meniere's is different for every one.
I ended up having a mastoid shunt and a vestibular nerve section on the left
side. Still having balance and vertigo problems.

Subject: [Meniere's Disease Club] And now, the diet!
Hello Group!
I haven't posted anything of late, because frankly, nothing has
changed for me. I am not getting any better. Last week I went to a
"specialist" who placed me on a low sodium (a minimum of 1500 mg
daily) diet for six months. Have any of you been on the diet? If so,
what was the outcome? Are you better, worse, no different? Please
let me hear from you!!!
