Introduction:
The discovery of Laser in the sixties of the past century represented
a technical revolution in the field of physics. Its numerous
applications covered many areas of technology in medicine,
agriculture, and environment. Various collaborating centers
contributed to advance this technology and to create encouraging new
uses. Having been provided with clear vision of the importance of
laser, a conference will be held in Aleppo University inviting
thought leaders in the field to exchange knowledge and experience,
and to lay down solid foundation of technology transfer, and
contribute to sustainable development in Syria.
Objectives:
The conference aims at exploring Laser and its applications at
different area, and global level, and to assess the continuing
development of laser in Syria, and to find out effective ways to
activate its use in the process of development.Thus the scope of the
conference will cover the following areas:l- Developmental processes
in laser technology.2- Laser's applications and uses.3- Laser's
applications that contribute to advance development in Syria.
Place and date of the Conference:
The conference will convene at the auditoria of Aleppo university
between 2-4 November 2002.
Conference language:
The conference language is Arabic. Foreign participants may use
English language.
Participation:
- Scientists and researchers from Syria, Arab and foreign
universities and scientific centers are invited to attend the
conferences .- Distinguished speakers from or foreign countries will
be invited too.- Participants have to submit an application with an
appropriate abstract not exceeding 400 words in Arabic and similar
one in English not later than May 31, 2002- Papers abstracts will
have primary evaluation depending on clarity of objectives and
authenticity of the results.- Participant notified of abstracts
acceptance, shall submit the complete paper not latter than July 31,
2002 which will be evaluated -after presentation- for publication.
Submission of Papers:
Computer-typed papers will be submitted as follows:1- Three copies
computer typed in Arabic for Arab researchers, and in English for
foreigners, completed with tables and figures, lacking authors' names
and addresses.2- The forth copy as above but including the
researchers names and addresses.3- The diskette containing the paper
should be typed in style (MS Word 6) and delivered at the
registration desk.4-The paper should not exceed 12 pages including
tables and figures. Citing the references by mentioning the author's
name and year.
Experiences and Accommodations:
1- Participants shall pay for their travel tickets.2 Participants
with accepted papers shall be offered full board accommodations by
the Supreme Council of Science(4 night only)3. Participants with no
papers will pay all their expenses.4. No scholarships are available,
but publication of the Council in field of the participant interest
will be freely offered.
