Bruce:
Our daughter has big time sensory issues and she is 3 years old and still is on Gerber #3's - she has a bad gag reflex and we have had no luck transitioning her to solid foods. Also, she only drinks milk from a baby bottle and Sprite from a straw in a cup. Sometimes a little water also, but that is it.
We have started slowly with trying to remove dairy. At first we completely cut out real milk and tried both Almond and Rice Milk...that did not work very well, our daughter completely revolted and would not drink anything.
We took the suggestion of another family in the same situation and have gone from whole milk to 2% and now are mixing in Rice Milk with the 2%. The idea is to eventually get our daughter to forget how real milk tastes and eventually getting her to drink the rice milk exclusively. When we cook we only use rice milk as she can't tell the difference.
Pacific brand Rice Milk is the one my daughter likes the best, but other families have indicated that Blue Diamond Almond Milk is good, but each child will be different.
As far as the other part of the diet, the Gluetin, we have been trying to watch everything we purchase....with the baby food it is has been relatively easy thus far.
Bottom line with our initial efforts is we have seen some positive changes with our daughter and are going to further continue expanding the diet.
We definately would also like to hear more from families that have tried and currently doing the diet.

Thanks for the question, Dave. I too, am interested in learning more
about this diet. I listened to several folks talk about during our
first meeting and I must admit, that I know very little about it.
When discussing it with my wife, she indicated that it involved
staying away from Milk (dairy products) and breads. My son consumes
milk and bread as a large part of his diet. I'm not sure if I want to
even consider taking those away from him. Any feedback from anyone
with experience in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
