Hi-

        Hello the great team that we have, as I am so glad with every uplifting email that I received.  I have been through all the hoops and drama since my wonderful son was two.  I am now a single parent of a nine year old who is my pride and joy.  My son has PDD, ODD, and ADHD.  Through Children's Memorial, and many specialists along with Family Services, he has made great strides.  The daycare just lights up when Darrin arrives, and he now is a role model for the other children, almost like a big brother.  I know days and of course all of our evenings can be overbearing for any individual that is conquering their diagnosis, and the family has their toll as well.  I just wanted to let every family know that as time goes on, its the memories of happiness in my son that keeps me positive.  I have undergone numerous parenting classes to learn how to assist in my child's development with his diagnosis, and feel as if the school dist. is my second family.  The kids at school even know who I am, as I've attended the field trips to assist my son in containing his behavior in a healthy, and positive way.  I too would like to set up play dates for social skills, and to let the kids be themselves in a safe and constructive environment with positive redirecting as needed with rewards.  Rewards and consequences have enriched our lives for an outgoing and loving family that I am so glad to reside in.  My son has one friend from another school, and this seems to be doing great, even the sleep over was great!!!!  Maybe with more friends, we can develop our own field trips and events amongst ourselves!!!!  email: gilligan_mary@...
