There is what is called the common iliac, which is artery directly following abdominal aorta, then it splits to left and right legs, so becomes left (right) iliac.  Most likely seen I imagine after an abdominal dissection.
 
Ginger I haven't had mine done yet, but if you don't get an answer here, let me know and I do know a Marfan patient from NE who has had at least common iliac done and I will help you contact him.

Ok, so what is an iliac, and how close are you to Houston? My family lives just east of San Antonio, about 3 hours from Houston. We don't know any other Marfans people around here.

This sounds like something that may be able to be done as an Endovascular Stent procedure.  I recommend thouroughly investigating this much less invasive...
