Hi, this is an interesting question.
From my experience working with HR department in a company where pre-
employment physicals were required for ALL positions (including
answering the phone) and some required yearly physicals because of the
job, I'd say 1- the doctor has to have an understanding of Marfan
because most likely it isn't going to be directly on the form or if it
is it will just have a place for an x and then depend on if he signs
the form. 2- It should be based on specifics that the job needs, we
used different forms by department, the doctor should be asking you if
you can lift x pounds - so long during the day, run x time etc whatever
applies to the job you are applying for. So I don't think the word
Marfan alone would be very likely to just get you pulled out.
However, on the personal side - what symptoms do you have, what do you
know you should (not) do? Marfan has no time frames unfortunately so
if you haven't had something major yet doesn't mean you won't...
I wish you the best and let us know how it goes!
