Hello...... i am 45 years old. With good health maintainance he could live to be old. I have known i have Marfans Syndrome for 11 yrs now. Chronic illness can cause depression. He can be an all A student. All I have heard about "marfs", is we are very highly intelligent people. I hope he turns this around. No reason to give up and quit trying at his school work.... He may need that someday to have an office job. Make good money in an office setting. He could even possibly become an entrepeneur... which would be fantastic. Marfans doesn't have to hold him back academically. He has to really soul search and make his mind up he can attain anything he wants. feel free to write me Fay

My son has it. He is 16 yrs old. What does the future look like for my son? What are the treatments and how much research has been done on this Marfans? Could he have a long life? I am really concerned for him. He has really been depressed about it and has gone from a straight "A" student to barely passing. I need to find some help to handle his concern and help him deal with it.
