As far as I know, the shug is only being tested in the US and Brazil. No one is
using it outside of these clinical experiments.
The most recent information I can find is from a June 2001 summary paper (Lohiya
et al., Asian J Androl 3:87-95): "Studies on safe reversal with complete return
of fertility have not yet been done... Studies involving modifications of Shug
devices and insertion techniques are ongoing."
