Re: [malecontraceptives] hi, I'm new to the list

Hi David,

Thanks, that's very helpful! I've been anti-vasectomy but Jeff, my bf,
has been thinking about it. I thought it was a bad idea to think of it as
reversible too, and so I've forwarded your message to him.

- Sophia

I'd suggest that if you are looking for a reversible method, although
vasectomy is the most reliable method of BC available it's probably
not for you. It shouldn't be considered reversible. Vasectomy
reversible is possible, but even if the tubes are successfully
reconnected there is a chance that pregnancy may not occur due to the
antisperm antibody reaction. Hence vasectomy should always be
considered permanent.

Sperm banking is expensive, and there is no guarantee that the frozen
sperm would be viable. Besides, the fact you might be considering
this option would indicate doubt about it being permanent and most
doctors would not perform a vasectomy.

I'm sorry I can't help by answering the question you asked, but I
hope the vasectomy information is of use.
