Re: [malecontraceptives] Testicular heating method

Good luck with the heating method. I would recommend using
it as a back-up for other methods rather than a primary
means of contraception. But if you want to do it, here's
what I experienced.

I bought a home paraffin spa from Homedics on eBay to heat
my water. I would pour this into a little cup and place my
scrotum in it while seated. I kept the water around 116 F
and soaked in it for 30-45 min per day for about two weeks.
Then I would re-soak about once a week after that.

I bought a home fertility test from Walgreens and tested my
sperm count after about 5 weeks. It showed a low count at
that time. Unfortunately, I had never tested it before
starting, so I can't be sure that it wasn't already low.
But I did get my girlfriend pregnant a few years
previously, so I know I was fertile at that point.

I have since had a vasectomy, so I don't use this method
anymore. I was only doing it as an extra back-up method. I
still used condoms and/or had sex with women who were on
birth control. I just wanted a little more control over my
fertility because the aforementioned pregnancy occurred
when a condom broke.

I noticed no decline in sex drive whatsoever. In fact, I
got more action while soaking than I had been getting
before!

Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

Sean
