Hi J,
The Male Contraception Information Project's long-awaited update on RISUG and
other methods will be online by the end of the year at www.mcip.info and
www.newmalecontraception.org.
Also, keep your eye out for a thorough update in the next few weeks of the
MaleContraceptives.org site.
In the meantime, do write to Professor Guha to let him know you are
interested: guha_sk at yahoo dot com. So far men from outside India have not
been
allowed in the clinical trials, but that may change if there are enough of you.
In the U.S., we need to focus on getting the NIH and the U.S. Agency for
International Development to fund duplicate pre-clinical studies (if we want FDA
approval, we can't start with human studies, we have to start at the
beginning). A U.S. institution such as Family Health International would be a
good
place to do such studies. When the MaleContraceptives.org update is online, it
will give names of whom to write to at the NIH and USAID.
Regards,
Elaine
