Hello, again Tiger,
I was hoping you could connect the dots included in my e-mail to you.
The reason I can't answer your questions directly is that if I did I
would be giving you medical advice. And it doesn't matter how much
I've learned about the male reproductive system or the male
contraceptive effect of Nifedipine on a very personal level. I'm
still not a doctor. And even if I were I'd be responsible enough to
insist on examining you first. So let me try to address your
questions this way.
First of all the (take it as you need it) approach is a bit too risky
for me. Given the high cost of (female-claimed) accidental
pregnancies these days. Or at least that's what (I) think anyway.
But you're right Dr. Benoff did in fact say that a single dose of
Nifedipine was effective at stopping the viability of sperm. But if
you read her (full research documentation) you'll discover it's based
on her professional observations and intensive laboratory tests of
full time Nifedipine users. Not part-timers.
(***And so if you want to achieve that same male contraceptive effect
it would be wise to take that same doseage.***)
Which is not a one size fits all prescription.
There are several factors your doctor may consider before prescribing
this medication for you in (particular). Such as your weight, your
age, your medical history and even your race. And sinse (again, I'm
not a doctor) I can't tell you all that.
Make an appointment with your personal physician and he or she can
tell you the exact doseage you need to take.
In my (particular) case being an forty something year old African-
American male with a family history of hypertension my doctor
believed everything I told him and was writing me a prescription
before I could put my shirt back on. Even though my blood pressure
was within normal parameters that day. I just told him what I wanted.
And he told me how much I neeeded.
Also about the S.P.A. test, Tiger you're already cheating fate here
my-man. Shell out the $400.00 to $500.00 (*Remember what the child
support will cost if you don't*) for the test and be glad you had the
(opportunity) to do so. If you're serious.
My final advice to you would be to consider all your options and do
what's in (*your own best interest*) without being influenced by
(anyone - myself included). Because it's your life, your sperm and
your future. Just make sure if you do decide to use an off label male
contraceptive do everything by the book and stay away from shortcuts
and cheap alternatives.
Go get em Tiger. And Enjoy your new life.
