Hi Larry,
Prof. Sujoy Guha, the developer of RISUG, is not yet permitted to do the
procedure for foreign men. The researchers are currently doing some
genotoxicity
work that was neglected before, and when they finish that, they will resume
the Phase III trial with men in India. Unfortunately, they require that the
men live near the test center so that they can be followed closely. The U.S.
and Canada (where Dr. Weiss lives) are waiting to see the results of the
Indian studies before beginning studies of their own.
The VasClip is probably a good option if you don't mind irreversibility,
since it's going to be at least a couple years before RISUG is ready in India
(Murphy's Law has been at work). But do write to Professor Guha, though, to
let
him know that you are interested, so that he can show his funders the level of
demand for the product. His e-mail is Guha_sk at yahoo dot com (in the
normal format, of course; this form is just to foil the automated spammers).
We
have to keep the pressure up to get this research prioritized and well funded.
Regards,
Elaine L.
