SUBJECT: Artificial Cryptorchidism questions

First of all, thanks for having such an informative group.

I have a couple of questions concerning artificial cryptorchidism as
a contraceptive method.

1. I'm told it can be effective but also heard "prolonged or extended
time" using this method can cause permanent sterility. Please
define "prolonged or extended" in time. I've not been able to find a
clear answer. Are they talking about consecutive hours or days or
what length of time?

2. I've heard heating of the testes can cause them to shrink somewhat
similar to the use of steroids. Any
thruth to this and is it something the testes would not rebound from
once
the artificial method of heating them was stopped?

3. What is the ordinary length of time between beginning use of this
method and it actually being effective?

4. Should wet heating methods be used along with artificial
cryptorchidism to assure being rendered infertile?

5. Can use of the artificial cryptorchidism method lead to decreased
testosterone production or a stoppage of it altogether?? Mine
sometimes checks in the low end of the normal range now.
