Hi  Emmanuel, I totally agree with you; we commited ourselves to promote malaria competence in our country and regions because we re convinced on the effectiveness of  this approach; we invested our effort and means to concretise it in the field; we hope that some support will be available in order to consolidate and extend the malaria comptence in our country.

Best regards
Greetings from Harare.

Adama and all,
it's been a longtime since I wrote ......
I've still been working on malaria control activities in my region all the same .......

Our (Kondji and myself) advocacies at national level failed from the onset .... probably because no funds could be mobilised... ......... .. you may well remeber that Norah Ngwenya had posed this problem at the very beginning in Mombasa

Each of us personnally financed the little we did for the Yaounde meeting.

Practically, malaria competence activities in my region went on through a parrallel means : Ibrahim came all the way from Sierra Leone to train Plan Cameroon staff ...... unfortunately, niether Kondji nor myself were integrated in the process

Hence, though we (Kondji and myself) are still very willing to carry on the process ....... we've been suffocating

May God Bless You
Emmanuel

Collegues,

This is great and lets pray for its sucess. Scaling is a real issue in most of our countries . we are also trying to conduct a national workshop, but funds are the major issue. we doing some advocacy to see whether other major funders can come on board to support the issue, but its not easy to mobilise resources especially financial resources.

Please share wit h us your experiences

Thanks Adama

Hi Katie,
These are useful information, indeed we need support to further scale
malaria competence in our countries, since funding is a major limitation.

Thanx for the attachment which is very elaborative and could be a corner
stone to demonstrate to other stakeholders that malaria competence works.
Since July this year when we had our first workshop that introduces malaria
competence to various partners in Tanzania, there is a new enthusiasm on the
approach. This commitment has arrived at the right time since it will
stimulate and accellerate the implementation process.

Regards,

Chacha
