vedr: kan magneter påvirker smerter fra gigt? Hidtil har der været 6
videnskabelige studier af
"statisk" magnetfelder på sygdomme i USA. En af dem er ny
offentligjørt på nettet, og vi bringer en
kort sammendrag her. Jeg vil fortælle mere om de andre forsøg
på "1ste nordisk konference om alternativ
medicin" i Oslo, Marth 2002

More than three-fourths (78%) of patients with
knee pain from osteoarthritis reported significant pain relief
after just one treatment with magnets,
according to a new study published in the September 2001 issue of
the journal ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES in Health
and Medicine.
Osteoarthritis, the most common form of
arthritis, causes deterioration of the joint cartilage. This study
suggests magnets may be a highly effective
alternative to drugs or surgery, without side effects.
In the randomized, double-blind study of 176
participants, copper coils, which produce electromagnetic
vibrations, were placed around subjects'
knees. The magnets were turned on for those who received
treatment, but were turned off for the control
group. Those in the magnet-on group had 46% reduction in
pain, compared with only 8% in the magnet-off
group.
The study was based on the hypothesis that
bone is capable of absorbing vibrations produced by magnets
and uses these vibrations to restructure bone
tissue molecules, resulting in less inflammation, improved
circulation, and reduced pain with improved
mobility.
