re: the magnoblock device

Does anyone know anything about this device? Is it a device at all?
(or just permanent magnets??)
Scott@...

The Magna Bloc™ Device
This device is the original embodiment of Magna Bloc™ Technology.
Studies in the laboratory and clinical data collected
have demonstrated that Magna Bloc™ is used successfully under
protocol for the treatment of acute pain, chronic pain, and
postoperative pain. It can be used for common aches and pains of
daily living such as headaches, neck pain, jaw pain, tooth
pain, shoulder pain, upper and lower back pain, elbow and wrist pain,
hip, knee and ankle pain. It has been demonstrated
that the device is most effectively utilized when it is placed over
the area of abnormally functioning pain fibers. The
device is currently being studied under protocol for refractory pain
syndromes at the Center for Pain Research and
Neuromagnetics at Vanderbilt University (I checked these references.
Only permanent magnets were mentioned!--Scott).

How It Works

The Magna Bloc™ device has been studied extensively since its
discovery in 1986. These studies are in search of the
mechanism of action of the device. It is demonstrated that a portion
of the mechanism of action is related to the alteration
of sodium and calcium channel function. The device was studied
extensively through use of a human pain model to demonstrate
that the primary effect on pain is in controlling C-Fiber firing
rates.

Patent Status

Patents have been issued in the United States and several foreign
countries. Additional patents are pending worldwide.
