Dear Fiona,
I am also from the uk , from Essex. My daughter has had Lyme for nearly six years and I did see her go down hill for four when we didn't know what was wrong. Myself got recently infected and didn't want my immunesystem to go like hers so tried Samento and then dicovered salt/c.
Been on it for about a month. Can't get salt tablets in uk. Use French seasalt from Holland and Barret.Don't use tablesalt. There seems little choice in seasalt in the shops. I take this seasalt with powdered vit c from Wellvit, Honeyholme Lane Cliviger, Burnley, BB10 4 SR, by mail order 240 gram for £7. All other products I get from Nutricentre, mailorder. Get 25 % reduction by registering once and for all with Superloop 01784 460782 or 01784461096. After free registration you dial directNutriccentre at 02076378436 and say you are a superloop customer.
For cystitis my daughter takes Uva Ursi complex drops from Bioforce(Nutricentre). For sleep she gets from gp only free thing on nhs melatonin 3 mg on prescription.
Uvaursi is also effective against Candida.
If you have a sensitive tummy you would prefer buffered Vit C from Nutricentre cheapest. Can get powdered, hypoallergenic from Lamberts 250 gr for 15 pound approx.
I feel the itching after my dose of brine and C. Haven't been able to get my 14 year old daughter to swallow it yet, she is on her Samento and I sprinkle seasalt on food whenever I can.
Good luck
Helga

Hi I am aware of th efeingol diet but can't get my son on any diet &
my daughter barely likes much foods as it is. I can't keep an eye on
what they eat at school unfortunately. What probiotic foods do you
mean? I though SBO's would be a good start. I was on 10mg
amytriptaline for th ebladder but it doesn't work any more so came off
it. I am trying to reduce my pain meds but my ESR is up at 28 again so
my inflammation all over my body is at it's worst again. I do suffer
from IBS as well but the codeine obviously causes the opposite effect
but that means I am not getting rid of anything from my gut. I think
my parents started this panic thing in me as well as me having hormone
problems since my teens. My ADHD or thyroid symptoms (not sure which)
didn't help either. My parents still cause me to panic whenever I am
on the phone. I have had to cut down the calls. they don't even
believe we are ill (not in the true sense of the word). Where do you
get your natural meds from? Do you think I should get soem other
things in or just start off on SBO's for now? I can't start too many
things at once. What would you recommend I stop? do you avoid eating
sugar & foods with yeast in them if you have a yeast infection? I
haven't heard of the yeast meds you mention, can they be bought in the
UK? sorry 10,000 questions. I still feel grotty from the antibiotic I
have just stopped. My panicky feelings have got worse this past 2
years as first my cat had to get put down with cancer of the nose in
2002, then my Grandma died in the October (she was 93 though), then my
brother (aged 30) died in a car crash in the November. My long term
boyfriend finished with me 4 months later when I really started
grieving for my brother & now he is going out with my best friend (who
always wanted him anyway). I also moved to a new build bungalow last
year in July & have had so much problems with the builders who won't
come back & fix anything. I also have a lot of important paperwork
building up & next year my benefits will be cut in half when my son
turns 19. As you can see there has been a lot of 'outside' things
going on & I am getting similar predjudice being a single parent in a
brand new house as I was on the old council house estate i was living
in previously. Selling my old house, the house move to a new build
with rip-off builders & losing my brother have been the worst. I would
do anything to bring my sweet brother back, but I have just turned 40
& decided that getting both my self & my kids well is my priority. I
do live the back of beyond so alternative
therapists/foodshops/medications are non-existant here. The nearest
large town is 120 miles away. I have done well to even know some
things that are wrong with me with all I have had to cope with on my
own (my ex never lived with us & has deserted us completely but he
never was supportive so it has been for the best). I have a friend in
England with some similar health problems but not the ADHD symptoms
who has been helping me & supporting me. She is about to start the
salt/C protocol but doesn't take painkillers at all. I have been
taking her advice for the other meds & the ME specialist. Do you not
take high dose fish oils & multivitamins? Did the ADHD in your family
turn out to be Borrelia after all? There is underactive thyroid rife
on both sides of my family & everyone closely related to me seem to
hav eloads of health problems. I probably inherited borrelia from my
parents. My dad has just been diagnosed with a blocked artery to the
heart & will have to have an op soon, this is worrying me too. There
seems to be heart problems with almost every male on his side of the
family. I am so worried about him. On my mum's side both her, my aunt,
uncle & cousin seem to have a drink problem. They must be self
medicating & not realising it. Sorry for going on.... best get to bed
now. Keep in touch. I need all the support I can get & thanks for
replying so quickly.
