In these troubled times what you need most is a good laugh, and
that's just what you'll get from comedian, humorist, political
commentator and Dry Bones cartoonist Yaakov Kirschen.
In fact you'll get more than a good laugh -- you'll still be laughing
weeks later as you recall Yaakov's stories, jokes and serious though
hilarious political commentary.
Yaakov Kirschen is not to be missed!

"The State of Israel stands as a singular achievement in many ways
and not the least is its achievement as the great democracy of the
Middle East ...We were brought together by shared ideals and by
shared adversity; we have been comrades in struggle and trusted
partners in teh quest for peace. We are the most natural allies and
like Israel itself - that alliance is forever." - John McCain , AIPAC
Policy Conference 2008, Washington , DC
For nearly three decades John McCain has enjoyed a strong love,
friendship and appreciation for Israel and her citizens. His
affection for and understanding of the myriad of complex issues
confronting the Israeli people runs deep, as does our nation's long
alliance with the State of Israel.
During his most recent trip he visited Yad Vashem , the Holocaust
Memorial and vowed that he would never allow Jewish people to suffer
another Shoa.
He recognizes Israel 's right as a sovereign to defend herself
against those who seek to harm and destroy her. John McCain will hold
terrorist groups, such as Hezbollah and Hamas, who seek to maximize
civilian death and destruction inside Israel , accountable.
John McCain recognizes the threat that a nuclear Iran poses not only
to Israel , but to the stability of the region and to the
international community. On his watch, Iran will not be allowed to
put its anti-Israel, anti-Western rhetoric into action.
For nearly 30 years John McCain has been proud to call the people of
Israel , Chaverim! Friends!

Mark Broxmeyer

Obama Campaign Withdraws From Two Jewish Debates
Thursday, October 16, 2008 By: Suzanne Kurtz
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------
The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) Executive Director Matt Brooks
issued the following statement today:
Now that the Presidential debates are over, the Obama campaign is
trying to cancel all remaining debates in the Jewish community that
include the Republican Jewish Coalition.
Claiming they do not like recent RJC advertisements, the Obama
campaign has formally instructed all of its representatives to cancel
their scheduled appearances with any representative of the RJC.
Former Congressman Mel Levine (CA) yesterday informed the Valley
Cities Jewish Community Center that he would no longer show up for
his scheduled debate this Sunday against RJC California Director
Larry Greenfield. State Representative Josh Shapiro (PA) informed
Temple Sinai that he would not participate in a forum with RJC
Philadelphia Director Scott Feigelstein.
"The RJC is deeply troubled by this effort on the part of the Obama
campaign to stifle and limit a debate on the important issues facing
our country," said Brooks. "More than anything the Jewish community
values dialogue. What is the Obama campaign afraid of? Why is the
Obama campaign afraid to have this conversation?"
"With their recently enacted policy of not debating representatives
of the RJC, the Obama campaign has underscored Senator Obama's
problems in the Jewish community. It is unfortunate that the Obama
campaign is unwilling and afraid to have a candid conversation on the
issues of great concern to Jewish voters," said Brooks.
"Throughout this campaign, the RJC has highlighted the truth about
Obama's positions, his statements and his advisers. Every point
raised in our ads is sourced, cited and has previously been reported
in the media. We ask legitimate questions about Obama's policies
towards Israel, the Middle East and Iran. Our ads have raised
legitimate concerns over Obama's associations with Rev. Jeremiah
Wright, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Robert Malley, Tony McPeak and David
Bonior. If the Obama campaign is unhappy with our ads, then Senator
Obama should never have associated with these individuals in the
first place," Brooks added.
"Currently, the RJC is scheduled to participate in 29 debates between
now and the election. In keeping with the long-standing tradition of
Jewish dialogue, we look forward to these opportunities to engage the
Jewish community on the critical issues," said Brooks

you have until October 20, 2008 7:00 PM to RSVP.
Oneg - Monday, October 20 (Erev-Shemini Atzeret) in the Ansche Chesed
Sukkah. We'll meet at about 8:30pm in the Ansche Chesed sukkah for
some schmoozing and noshing under the stars (the oneg ends at
10:45pm). The details are simple; No reservations are needed or will
be taken, just show up (and please bring a friend!). If it rains then
the event will take place indoors. Here is what you can do
in "preparation" for this event; Invite a friend and (as the noshing
is potluck) a box of cookies or other snack or a something non-
alcoholic to drink to share with others. Please do remember that it
must be kosher (and either dairy or pareve). Suggestions include a
box of cookies, some seedless grapes, seltzer, a package of pre-
washed baby carrots, something with chocolate etc etc. Bringing your
favorite (Shabbat friendly) board game may also be a nice idea. As
all good things like this end eventually, the oneg will end at
10:45pm and everyone must be out of the building by 11:00pm. For more
information contact Michael (Michael_Brochstein@... or
212/678-7881 before 9:00pm).
For those interested: There will be a coordinated kosher pareve/dairy
potluck dinner in the sukkah prior to the oneg. If you are interested

RALLY FOR PEACE
StandWithUs East Coast, in coordination with over 60 other
organizations and leaders of various religions and faiths joined
together to protest the appearance of Ahmadinejad at a religious
dinner in New York. Ahmadinejad was invited by The American Friends
Service Committee, Mennonite Central Committee, Quaker UN Office,
Religions for Peace, and the World Council of Churches-UN Liaison
Office to talk about Peace.
StandWithUs East Coast, worked to bring hundreds of people, including
students to the rally. Avi Posnick, Outreach Coordinator for
StandWithUs East Coast, addressed the rally and directed his speech
to the organizers of the dinner, saying, "Those who invited
Ahmadinejad to this dinner, if you truly believe in peace and
tolerance, you should denounce Ahmadinejad, not dine with him."
As an organization who believes that education is the road to peace,
we will continue to teach communities and students around the world
to compbat the lies and propoganda used to incite intolerance, hatred
and even genocide; the very kid of propaganda that Ahmadinejad uses.

Dear Supporter,
Last night, you saw John McCain win the final debate of the general
election. On every issue, he proved he is ready to lead and ready to
take this country in a new direction.
We know that John McCain is prepared to bring bold solutions to solve
our nation's challenges. He'll fight for the "Joe the Plumbers," "Joe
the Florists" and "Joe the Carpenters" of America to reduce taxes and
allow more men and women to realize the American Dream. John McCain
is the only candidate who has consistently put our country's needs
above his own. Now, it's up to us now to make sure he wins on
Election Day.
There's been a lot of talk in the media about the massive field
operation Senator Obama has built with unlimited campaign funds. Our
campaign is ready to match his operation, but we need you on board to
do it.
As we enter the final weeks of the campaign, we're launching our
major volunteer effort to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin. As a
volunteer in your home state, you will be making a big difference in
bringing the McCain-Palin ticket closer to victory.
Please follow this link to sign up for a volunteer shift.
https://secure.johnmccain.com//Secure/Signup.aspx?smode=phonebank
No matter what your schedule is, we have available shifts for each

Item below is regarding McCain Palin
Team -
John McCain and Sarah Palin were hard at work on the campaign trail
this week, visiting with voters in battleground states and working
day and night to reach out to undecided voters and energize
supporters in the remaining days of the campaign. John McCain came
off a great win in his final debate with Senator Obama and the polls
are beginning to tighten as we head into the final stretch.
Yesterday, our campaign released a new TV ad highlighting this
called, "Fight." John McCain and Sarah Palin are a team of reformers
and fighters with a bold plan to make the next four years better for
all Americans. Take a minute today to watch our latest ad by
following this link.
Our country's economic troubles won't be solved by higher taxes and
Senators Obama and Biden have laid out plans they say will "spread
the wealth" around - taking more money from hard working Americans in
the form of "patriotic" tax hikes.
If we're going to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin, we need your
help. In the final days of the race, we need you to to pitch in and
sign up to volunteer through our online phone bank.
It's easy to use; you choose the state where you'd like to make calls
and we provide the names, numbers and phone scripts. Please take a
few minutes this evening or tomorrow to follow this link and make 20
calls for our campaign.
Our entire team, from our candidates to staff and volunteers,
appreciates your support and dedication. Please get involved in the
final days of the campaign. Your help can put us over the top on
Election Day.
Volunteer Deployment for McCain-Palin
For those who are ready, willing and able to pack a suitcase and hit
the road for voter turnout in a target state, Volunteer Deployment is
for you!
We are recruiting McCain Marshals and McCain Mavericks to deploy to
states all over the country to assist existing McCain-Palin 2008
operations in their final days/weeks of voter contact.
Who should apply?
McCain Marshals
This program is for those who are comfortable working independently,
managing a local office and recruiting new volunteers. Additionally,
our McCain Marshals must be familiar with the new political
technologies we are using in the field. Ideally, they will have
campaign experience, or have participated in Deployment in recent
years and be familiar with our turnout operations. The requirements
are a minimum two-week commitment (October 22nd through November 5th).
McCain Mavericks
This program is for all of you that are able to give the last week or
two before Election Day to make turnout phone calls and go door-to-
door in one of our top battleground states. You'll work all day (and
night) long with a group of friends (some new, some old) to turn out
voters on Election Day. The departure day is anytime before November
1st, and you'll be able to return home on Wednesday, November 5.
How do I apply?
Please apply online at http://www.johnmccain.com/deployment.
Thank you!
Joni Gossett, Deputy Director of Volunteers

:
Our campaign just released a new web video detailing the ties
between Senator Barack Obama and ACORN, the organization currently
under investigation for massive voter fraud in a number of
battleground states.
Please follow this link to watch "ACORN."
http://www.johnmccain.com/videolanding/acorn1.htm
As a result of Senator Obama's blind ambition, he has a long history
with the group. Barack Obama trained members of the Chicago ACORN
staff, and his campaign has paid more than $800,000 for "voter
registration" to an ACORN front group.
We're asking you to take a few minutes this evening to watch the ad
http://www.johnmccain.com/videolanding/acorn1.htm
and learn more about the relationship between Senator Barack Obama
and ACORN.

We seek to foster and enhance ties between the American Jewish
community and Republican decision makers. We work to sensitize
Republican leadership in government and the party to the concerns and
issues of the Jewish community, while articulating and advocating
Republican ideas and policies within the Jewish community. We are
committed to building a strong, effective and respected Jewish
Republican voice in Washington and across the country.
https://www.rjchq.org/About/missionstatement.aspx
For 20 years, the Republican Jewish Coalition (formerly the National
Jewish Coalition) has been the voice for Jewish Republicans. The RJC
was founded in 1985 to be a permanent Jewish presence in the
Republican community and a credible Republican presence in the Jewish
community.
As the unique bridge between the Jewish community and Republican
leaders, the RJC earned the trust of the Reagan and Bush
administration officials, national and state legislators, and party
leaders.
The RJC works to sensitize Republican decision makers in government
and the party to the concerns of the Jewish community, while at the
same time articulating Republican ideas and policies in the Jewish
community.
The Republican Jewish Coalition is the most important voice on
Republican issues in the Jewish community and the most trusted and
sought-out Jewish advisor to Republican leaders.
The Republican Jewish Coalition has a tradition of leadership and
activism, hosting events and activities such as the Presidential
Candidates Forum, leadership trips to Israel for Members of Congress,
governors and other leaders, and creating a high-level and high-
profile Jewish presence at the Republican National Convention.
No less importantly, the Republican Jewish Coalition has a growing
grassroots outreach to Jewish Republicans, which has been very
successful in the last few years. Using a variety of media, including
an award-winning website, the RJC is attracting new members, adding
to our current 40 chapters and building on the network of Jewish
Republican activists already in place in key states around the
country.
The Republican Jewish Coalition has a highly successful Legislative
Affairs Department, ensuring that our issues are heard on Capitol
Hill. We lobby and advise leaders from state capitals to the U.S.
Capitol and from the local party offices to the Republican National
Committee. Through the ongoing work of our Communications Department,
we make our case in the mainstream national media and the local
Jewish papers.
In addition, we have established the Republican Jewish Coalition
Political Action Committee to expand our capabilities. This will
allow us to aggressively engage in political activities across the
country and give us the ability to strongly support, both politically
and financially, the incumbents and challengers who reflect our
priorities and principles.
On every level, the Republican Jewish Coalition is committed to
building a strong, effective, and respected Jewish Republican voice
in Washington and across the country.
