I lost nothing. I gained nothing. I guess that's bad and good.
I was cheat free until last night when I had 3 small pieces of my husband's
orange chinese chicken. Not sure how many carbs in it, but it was yummy, and
I felt like crap after.
I didn't exercise. Do you see a pattern here?
My goal is to make it through my birthday week (I turn 40, ugh) without
cheating or completely going off program. Not sure what surprises will come up
and test me, but I'm hoping my husband doesn't do something like buy a cake or
anything too tempting.

Make a note to remember how you felt after you ate the chicken and it may
help keep you on plan the next time a potential cheat approaches. All I have
to do is remember how much better I feel when I am low carbing, and then I
"know" that I don't want that cheat. It just isn't worth it to me in the long
run. Not when there are so many good low carb recipes for alternatives to
those high carb things.
Was the orange chicken something you really wanted? Well, them make
yourself some Low Carb Orange Chicken, and don't eat something that makes you
feel
bad. Eat something that makes you feel good.
Here are some Low Carb Orange Chicken recipes:

For instance, IF you bake yourself a low carb birthday cake, AND let your
husband know about it, he won't be so inclined to buy you a high carb cake.
So, now you just need to decide what kind of cake you want for your birthday
and let us know so we can help you find just the right recipe! :) Good
planning, eh?
Remember, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
So, think about what you want for your birthday dinner. Do you want hubby
to take you out? Then pick a restaurant where you will feel safe ordering a
low carb dinner. Scout webpages to make sure they have what you want. Then
stick with it when it comes time to order. You can still have indulgent
things. Blue cheese on your steak, or mushrooms? Lobster, if that's in your
budget. Red Lobster has great shrimp scampi and they are very good about not
bringing the rolls to the table if you ask ahead of time, or you could even
make
a low carb version of their rolls to take with you so you won't feel like
you are missing anything.
BTW, 40 isn't so bad. :) I turned 48 this past week, and thanks to Low
Carbing, I'm in the best shape I've been since before I turned 30. We aren't
getting older, we're getting better! You'd better believe it! :)
Low Carbing is the best birthday present you could give to yourself, and on
plan makes it even better!
Happy Low Carbing!
Laura :)
