According to Dr. Atkins, this is a cholesterol burning diet. In his
book he says that we should take blood levels before starting the
diet as a baseline and then take them 6 weeks later. He says without
fail with adherence to the LC lifestyle unless you are on certain
medications the trigliceride level will be significantly lowered. I
have decent cholesterol anyhow, I think it is genetic, but it went
from 130 to 115 when I did the comparison the first time I went on
the diet.
