I have here a very special Christmas gift for you.
Soon after the Mumbai bombings I had a powerful vision in meditation.
One million people were meditating at the same time, sending peaceful,
healing vibrations to everyone in India, Pakistan and the world.
As I stayed with the vision, it became clear that those million people
were actually within me...within each person! Every cell was holding
the vision of peace and healing simultaneously.
So I created an invitation for an experiment called "Rockets of Peace".
The aim was to have 21 people meditating together each morning. I
invited 21 friends to participate in a 15 minute morning meditation at
6:30am for five days. They all agreed to hear a guided meditation or be
in silence for five days at precisely 6:30am .
We know that some of biggest changes in history have come from groups
of a few. The Maharishi Effect says that the square root of 1% of a
population affects the whole. So we wondered if 21 of us could create
the beginning of what might become a larger movement.
I asked for a lot of Divine Guidance in preparing the meditation. It
was an amazing experience to create it so that it would be acceptable
to people from different walks of life and belief systems. I created
two recordings of the meditation. One with background music and one
without music.
Those five days were very powerful and memorable for those who
participated. There were significant shifts in energy and
consciousness. The results were tangible and continue to this day for
many in that group of 21. We had a long email message trail of insights
and experiences, such was the power of meditating together.
Though the World Peace meditation is not yet ready for full public
release, I have been encouraged by Sangeeta to share this precious
meditation with all friends this Christmas day. This is a loving gift
for you. Please do not distribute it further until the final version is
available. That said, the current version is incredibly powerful and
the benefits, even for people who have never meditated before are
tangible.
So yesterday (16th) I decided to do some "touristy" things in Melbourne city. Been a month I've been in Australia and had mostly been avoiding that.
I decided to make it a technology free day (i.e. to stay away from
laptops/mp3 players/phones) ...a "planning free" day...and basically to
allow joyful intentions to pave the way.
I actually had no clue what I'd be doing when I got to the city.
Decided to just let the day unfold. Its a different quality of time and
experience when we suspend planning and just open to the experience of
being.
It was amusing to notice a slight impatience as I waited for the bus for 15mins...when I had nowhere to go or no one to meet!
Gratitude emerged for simple things like riding a bus / train. I had
with me one of my favorite books "Awareness Itself" and just a few
pages of it put me into an altered state of consciousness. Not even
pages...just these lines put me into such a tizzy that I had to put the
book down: "if it wasn't for my teacher, I would never have realized
the brightness of life"
the brightness of life...
the brightness of life...
this phrase kept echoing in consciousness...and the world was seen with new eyes...fresh eyes...and it was so bright!
I got off at the central train station. Had a huge delicious salad for
breakfast. Met a friendly man who was cleaning a glass door and asked
him if he could tell me where I could find a tourist map of melbourne.
He directed me to an information booth with a smile.
Met Ann, an enthusiastic and bubbly tourist officer who filled me up
with all the amazing possibilities for a day in Melbourne in just 3
minutes...she grew even more enthusiastic when she discovered I was
from India (her son loved Indian food she said, and invited me to join
them for a meal sometime :)
I took the free tourist tram that circles around the city center. It
had a PA system that told us everything we were seeing all around us,
the history, queer facts, adjacent attractions etc.
I was with myself and the senses. Noticing everything around me with a
degree of acuteness. I found I could easily strike up a friendly
conversation with anyone I wanted and was also completely comfortable
not saying a thing to anyone.
Decided to visit the tallest building in Melbourne and get a birds eye
view of the city. They had something called "the edge" experience where
they slide you out in a glass box suspended 88 floors above the ground.
The views were spectacular. You can see the building here: http://www.eurekalookout.com.au/
Reflected on how ordinary reality can become so expansive and beautiful
when we allow ourselves to take a bird's eye perspective.
Took another tram to "waterfront city" and had lunch there. Began
feeling somewhat lonely and gloomy all of a sudden. Held the feelings
with patient awareness.
So once I got my ticket and while I was waiting for my movie to start,
I just pulled out my shoes and sat meditation in public. Despite music
and lights, it was a remarkably deep meditation for about 20 mins. I'm
glad I did it, it paved the way for a remarkable awakening I was to
have shortly.
Saw a 45min movie on Africa in 3D format. We were given special glasses
to were which converted otherwise out of focus images into an almost
real life effect. It felt like you could touch the leaves and elephants
and were actually swimming in water. Extraordinary.
The whole time I was seeing this the Advaitic teaching of life being no
more than a projected image lit up by consciousness and resting on the
screen of undifferentiated "brahman" kept coming to mind. I went one
step behind the movie and arrived at "me"...and then I went one step
behind "me" and arrived at ...
I never expected to have a spiritual experience in an IMAX theatre! It
wasn't spectacular, it was almost normal. And that is what made it
remarkable.
Walking out of the theatre, life was the same, and yet just another
comprehensive IMAX movie...this one with scents, feelings, tastes and
reflective thoughts included. I was walking and also the space in which
I was walking. I was apart from others and I was also a part of
everything. The awareness of this has been radically awake since.
I visited the Old Melbourne Gaol...the prison where inmates were held
for decades. I was the presence of compassion..."bearing witness" as
Bernie Glassman would say when visiting Auschwitz with Zen students. http://www.enlightennext.org/magazine/j19/glassman.asp
Returned home and promptly feel sick with a flu. When there is an
upheaval in consciousness there is bound to be an effect in the body as
well. The body was disturbed, but the mind kept stepping beyond the me,
into the we, the oneness.
Join Nithya Shanti and friends for two happy days.
You are invited!
Together lets dedicate two days to being more present

Some Feedback from past Hadayoli Joyshops
"Happiest Evening, Nithya! Today, I discovered so many beautiful things and learned to love things and people the way they are and lots more. Some people have the amazing power to walk with you for few moments and make your life divine blessing. You did it and its truly magic and so it is.... Lots of love and Prayers." ~ Amita.
"Nithya Shanti himself was energetic, happy and positive. He spread these qualities in the group. He preached whatever he practiced. Love-laugh-learn is really very important message we got today. Thank you very much. I now say I am the happiest person today. I understood the meaning of gratitude. I got the flavour of 'BE LOVING.' I am sure, through practicing meditation I will get its real flavour." ~ D. Daswani
"It is like getting connected to oneself and to the world simultaneously. We all forget to apply our hearts to our lives. I lived too dry but now I think I love everyone and everything around me I have transformed into "Human Being Happy."" ~ Abhijeet
"The way we were brought up, everything that was imbibed in us in childhood-especially for girls was designed to make us very docile, obedient - termed as selfless persons. In reality I and may be many girls of my generation grew into very inhibited, unreal persons. It has been my struggle throughout my life to become a free (less inhibited) real person who could speak her own mind, to reach the uninhibited innocence of a child within me and to be able not to be ashamed of it. Everything I have done in my life is a journey in that direction, progressing sometimes and also retreating very often. With you and your programme for the first time I felt assured that there would not be many occasions when I see myself retreating." ~ Shubangana
"The stories we heard made understanding deeper ideas simpler. The workshop did not talk about abstract ideas, it was a joyshop about ideas we can apply and have fun applying them." ~ Poonam

Nithya Shanti is the master in white, teaching people how to make today the happiest day of their life at what he calls the Hadayoli Joyshop.
Blending spirituality, emotional wellbeing and physical fitness, Nithya Shanti brings in his Buddhist tradition from his six-year life as a forest monk. An MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, he opted out of corporate life and is now sharing his experience of "is-dom,". He has just two words to help take people to enlightenment and that is "Be Loving."
Whatever our thoughts, words and actions, the Universe responds with an "And so it is." This makes our thoughts a reality. His workshop focuses on how to create a loving and joyous reality around us. When we live consciously, we begin to balance the physical, energy, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and social dimensions of life. We learn to live in harmony with the natural principles of the Universe. This gives us the strength, clarity and energy to realise the purpose of our life, he says. Physically it means to create a sense of lightness, physical freshness and alertness, flexibility and stamina, energetically to have abundant energy and enjoy a high level of activity, emotionally to be expressive and open, intellectually to provide clarity and depth of thinking, spiritually to have a strong sense of values based on love and compassion for oneself and others and socially to be financially independent, with a healthy relationship with family and community. He teaches the practice of a five-minute miracle that helps the individual to focus positive energy toward any specific outcome with relationships or situations. He draws four sublime attitudes called the Brahma Viharas which are also mentioned by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutra: Metta (Maitri) – loving friendliness to all, Karuna – compassion to all, Mudita – joy in another's accomplishments and Upekka (Upeksha) – equanimity in accepting both loss and gain, praise and blame, success and failure with detachment.
May you be truly happy and well, (whether or not we see you at the joyshop!)
Peace and Light.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grant yourself a moment of peace and you will understand how foolishly you have scurried about.
Learn to be silent and you will notice that you have talked too much.
Be kind and you will realize your judgement of others was too severe.
It suggests that we ask ourself what are the five things that would define an un-successful life for us.
Based on that we figure out what are the top five wishes for our life... and then based on those wishes make specific goals... and finally take powerful action steps.
Cool concept!
These days I meditate on my 5 wishes every morning as soon as I wake up and also at night before falling asleep. (This was suggested by the inspiring teacher Neville Goddard : visualize your most ideal self five times daily, esp. morning and night.)
These wishes are the most intimate aspect of my life, and I have shared them with very few people. Today I am inspired to share my five wishes with many more, because it is possible that it may inspire some of you to do this clarifying exercise yourself!
So here we go...let me share my five wishes...
1) Inner Growth: Mastery of the Science of Happiness - Awareness and Love, culminating in Everyday Enlightenment - Inspired thoughts, words and actions
2) Goddess: An Incredibly Loving, Supportive, Synergistic, Purposeful, Transformational & Riotously Fun Relationship Journey with the woman of my dreams
3) Teacher: Being one of the most Outstanding, Inspiring, Ground breaking & Visionary Teachers of the Universal Principles and Practices of Happiness ever
4) University of Happiness: Co-creating a World Class (& Cosmic Class) Institution for Research, Application & Mastery of the Most Important Lessons in Life - Loving, Learning & Laughing
5) Community: Facilitating a Closely Knit Worldwide (& Galaxy wide) Community of Enthusiastic, Innovative and Purposeful Indiviuals (& Institutions) that Support each other in Realizing Inner Genius, Awakening Vision and Spreading Happiness.
I am now in vibrational alignment with these aspirations. All of this, and much more, comes to me in totally satisfying and harmonious ways, in an easy and relaxed manner, in a healthy and positive way, in its own perfect time, for the Highest Good of all. All I need is within me Now. Outer manifestions are a joyful bonus.
I choose to play on this brief excursion on Planet Earth...to play with purpose!
And so it is already!
There we go! Good fun...it actually helped me articulate it better than I ever have before...so thank-you all for giving me this opportunity to share this!
I remember reading about this seminar leader who asked all his (few hundred) participants to take out one of their visiting cards and write on the back one wish they had. Then everyone passed the cards around. Amazingly many people found that there were others in the group with the knowledge, power, wealth or resources to make their wishes come true in some way. And the whole exercise just took minutes. The power of sharing our wishes! How wonderful if we can all support each other in our 5 wishes!
Incase any of you would like to download a worksheet for the 5 wishes, visit the website above or join my Yahoo! group and visit the "files" section
Hi Manoj,
Thank-you for raising these genuine questions.
To percievie the "Divine Order" in this incident is not about positive thinking.
It is about understanding the full spectrum of the incident.
There isn't a shadow without light.
Can we honour both, the shadow and the light?
Nor is it about being passive and advocating some superficial kind of "love" that is afraid of
defending lives and the security of an entire city.
Actions will need to be taken and will inevitably be taken.
However we also know that actions can be motivated by different levels of consciousness.
For example : making a donation can be motivated by a hunger for fame, or by a joyous wish to support a cause.
Similarly taking appropriate actions is entirely necessary in this situation.
However actions clouded by rage, fear and revenge never benefit anyone in the long run.
Actions taken with detachment, awareness and compassion always do.
Percieving Divine Order is the essence of wisdom, and far beyond positive and negative thinking.
As a surgeon you are motivated by compassion, not anger when you remove diseased parts.
It is possible to have a similar motivation when dealing with these people, who are also sick after all.
If both sides are angry and self-righteous...how can one side claim to be fundamentally different from the other?
If Nalanda could have been avoided by an army, then how come the US and India
and so many other contries are suffering today despite having huge armies?
Creation and destruction is as natural as inhaling and exhaling. It applies to mountains, oceans, nations & religions.
Even so, The Buddha never asked any king to disband their army. He taught people how to find freedom within.
And the way to do that is by deactivating the seeds of violence within.
That is when balanced action can be taken, which is truly beneficial.
And this is not mere philosophy...it can be practiced.
I for one cannot bring myself to fault anyone in this whole incident.
Everyone is fulfilling their Dharma and reaping their karma.
And death, as far as I am concerned, is not a tragedy...any more than birth is.
We come from essence and return to essence.
Few however ever learn to live from essence...to see the world through eyes of essence.
Anyway, most people reading these messages are not out there fighting those individuals!
Yet they might be fighting what has happened within.
The purpose of the message is to calm the inner vicissitude by offering a different perspective.
The perspective of the Divine Dance, the Divine Drama, indeed...the Divine Comedy
This drama of life will continue!
Did you know that all of us exist today because of a HUGE explosion?
Scientists tell us that after the universe was formed, stars exploded into supernovas...
and the resulting nuclear reactions created all the known elements!
We are all STARS! As we are made of star dust.
So explosions aren't entirely bad...sometimes great beauty can also emerge from them!
An MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, he opted out of corporate life and is now sharing his experience of "is-dom," He has just two words to help take people to enlightenment and that is "Be Loving." Whatever our thoughts, words and actions, the Universe responds with an "And so it is." This makes our thoughts a reality. His workshop focuses on how to create a loving and joyous reality around us. When we live consciously, we begin to balance the physical, energy, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and social dimensions of life. We learn to live in harmony with the natural principles of the Universe. This gives us the strength, clarity and energy to realise the purpose of our life, he says. Physically it means to create a sense of lightness, physical freshness and alertness, flexibility and stamina, energetically to have abundant energy and enjoy a high level of activity, emotionally to be expressive and open, intellectually to provide clarity and depth of thinking, spiritually to have a strong sense of values based on love and compassion for oneself and others and socially to be financially independent, with a healthy relationship with family and community. He teaches the practice of a five-minute miracle that helps the individual to focus positive energy toward any specific outcome with relationships or situations. He draws four sublime attitudes called the Brahma Viharas which are also mentioned by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutra: Metta (Maitri) – loving friendliness to all, Karuna – compassion to all, Mudita – joy in another's accomplishments and Upekka (Upeksha) – equanimity in accepting both loss and gain, praise and blame, success and failure with detachment.
Namaskar!
I have compiled a list of transformational practices...ones that have
personally benefitted me & which I frequently share with others. Its a
somewhat "dense" document & has several abbreviations. I will be
explaining & sharing the essence of these teachings in an upcoming
lecture in Chennai. There might be more such lectures if this one is
found useful. I am sharing this so people can get an overview of what
I am sharing & some sense of how it all fits together. the purpose is
"be joyful/loving/peaceful" & to awaken the Divine Potentials latent
within us in a comprehensive, accessible and reliable way.
May you be happy, know inner peace & complete freedom!
Namaste Namaste!
Dear All,
Greetings from Thiruvannamalai...the holy land of Arunanchala and Sri Ramana
Maharishi.
I am currently staying in Singing Heart Ashram, where we had a 10 day
"joytreat" last month.
Ante (a brilliant yoga teacher from Canada) has very kindly put together
many new photos from
our time together in Thiru, which you can see by following this link...
http://www.tabblo.com/studio/stories/shared/27737/69nbxrdvw0lo3ea
You will see not only Singing Heart Ashram, but also Sri Ramana Ashram, the
cave where Bhagavan Ramana lived in for many years and some interesting
photos of how we lifted Ante (110kg or so) using just one finger by using
the power of our mind.
Also there are photos of an experiment we did of putting some corn between 4
mobile phones. The theory was that the microwave energy generated when all
the 4 phones ring together will make the corn pop! It didn't work in this
case, but those of us who were sensitive to energy
did feel like our brains were ready to pop with all the radiation generated
: )
Moving on...I wanted to share a few things about my upcoming plans...
I will be in Chennai (24-26th Sept) and we will be having a couple of
evening gatherings (contact Narsi - 94450 25766 ;
vnarsi@...<http://in.f76.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=vnarsi@gmail.com>
)
It is my intention to discuss the ten most significant processes I have
learnt in my spiritual journey so far. Almost all of them are "open
source"...which means they can be learnt, applied and shared with others
without cost.
Some of these include...
1. Buddha's Teachings - Vipassana; Mahasati; Brahmavihara; Bodhicitta;
Tonglen; Phowa; Pure land...
2. Energy Mastery - EFT; TAT; Release; Emotrance...
3. Sungazing - Using the HRM protocol...
4. Health & Healing - various resources & processes...
5. Spiritual Law of Attraction - some wonderful teachings & tools...
6. Some of my own innovations - Four Tune; Dream team; Health Access Tool...
And others... we will discuss when we meet : )
I will be lecturing on these subjects, introducing them to people so that
those who are interested to go deeper can research on their own or connect
with me. My intention is that over the next year there will be 6 more 10 day
retreats emphasizing meditation and some / all of the above subjects.
Also, I will be in Singapore and Australia this Oct-Dec. If there
is interest in what I am sharing then it is possible I might go on to the US
and Europe before returning to India next year. All this is still a little
tentative right now as I have yet to finalize my travels. In case any of you
are keen to invite me in your part of the world, let me know, and I will see
if I can include it in my itinerary.
So this is what seems to be emerging for the year ahead...sharing the
deepest, most beautiful & transformational teachings...in a way that is
accessible to people and doesn't limit them to just one teacher or
framework...deeper dives within in regular 10 day retreats...a possible trip
round the world to generate interest and resources for co-creating
"happiness universities" (...which will be under an umbrella trust we are
calling "Such") ...all of this, maybe none of this....done in an attitude of
service, play and surrender.
Thats all for this update. Look forward to hearing from some of you.
Peace and inner light,
Nithya Shanti
Here is an interesting talk that might change our assumptions about education. My brother and I went to a "free progress school" called Mirambika as children. This talk is by my brother's best friend's dad...small world...
In 1999, Sugata Mitra and his colleagues dug a hole in a wall bordering an urban slum in New Delhi, installed an Internet-connected PC, and left it there (with a hidden camera filming the area). What they saw was kids from the slum playing around with the computer and in the process learning how to use it and how to go online, and then teaching each other.
In the following years they replicated the experiment in other parts of India, urban and rural, with similar results, challenging some of the key assumptions of formal education. The "Hole in the Wall" project demonstrates that, even in the absence of any direct input from a teacher, an environment that stimulates curiosity can cause learning through self-instruction and peer-shared knowledge. Mitra, who's now a professor of educational technology at Newcastle University (UK), calls it "minimally invasive education."
"Education-as-usual assumes that kids are empty vessels who need to be sat down in a room and filled with curricular content. Dr. Mitra's experiments prove that wrong."
Subject: This week: How kids teach themselves To: birenshah64@...
This week on TED.com, Sugata Mitra talks about the "Hole in the Wall" project -- where kids in an Indian neighborhood figured out (on their own) how to use a PC and mouse, and then taught their friends. We've all seen kids do things like this, figuring out a new toy or the universal remote, but Mitra asks the next logical question: How can traditional schools harness the immense power of children to teach one another?
Also this week, watch John Q. Walker "re-perform" great piano pieces, with software that brings greats like Art Tatum back to life. Blogger Ory Okolloh tells the moving, personal story of how she committed herself to making Kenya a better place for her family. From last week, check out physicist Patricia Burchat, who is searching the universe for dark matter and dark energy. It's a mind-expanding topic that she explains clearly. And National Geographic photography director David Griffin talks about the powerful ways that photographs can connect us.
Sugata Mitra:Can kids teach themselves?
Speaking at LIFT 2007, Sugata Mitra talks about his "Hole in the Wall" project. Young kids in this project figured out how to use a PC on their own -- and then taught other kids. Given this, he asks, what else can children teach themselves and each other? Watch this talk >>
If
you're not making as much money as you'd like, then you're holding onto
some negative beliefs about yourself and how much money you're capable
of flowing.
Money is a resource with a neutral energy that we
project our beliefs onto. Money takes on that energy and that is the
experience we get with it.
When you change your beliefs about money, money changes for you.
When you choose wealth, and start to believe that wealth is spiritual, wealth finds you.
EFT
is a glorious way to flow money and grow money. What better work can
you do on this planet than to help others come into alignment with
their God-given truth, free to create lives of wellness, prosperity,
and joy.
Wealthy people who are humble, generous, and wanting to
do the right thing are some of the most powerful people who have the
most choices to make a difference in the world in which we live.
Tap
out these old limiting beliefs about money, and then tap in the new
beliefs to reframe and re-pattern your energy with money.
While tapping all the points repeat the following set-up phrase to release your destructive beliefs about money.
Even though I am still believing, I now choose to release:
1. Money is not spiritual
2. I will never have enough money
3. I'll probably just fail anyway
4. But we can't afford that
5. Rich people are greedy and dishonest
6. If I'm successful, my friends will be jealous and stop liking me
7. I'm no better than my parents, so I shouldn't make more then they did
8. I might forget what's truly important and not like the person I've become
9. Money is the root of all evil
10. I'm not worthy
(Did
you realize that fully 90 percent of the population has an issue with
low self-esteem? It's the No. 1 thing that holds people back and
prevents them from living their dreams).
Next, while tapping all the EFT points, repeat this set-up statement with each of the following reframes.
I am now believing and radiating these truths about money:
1.
I am grateful I am free to create whatever I want with money, I now
choose to experience money as a spiritual resource in my life
2.
I am grateful that there is enough money for everyone and it is
everyone's birthright to create wealth. I choose to create mine now.
3.
I am successful, I safe making mistakes and learning better ways to do
business, I am ready, success is my god-given natural right
4. I am always flowing more in than is going out, I am wise in my purchases and a good steward of my money
5. I am grateful that I am an honest and generous rich person
6.
I am a great example to my friends and associates, as I choose my
birthright of wealth others are more free to choose this as well
7.
I am knowing my parents did the best they knew how, and I am free and
it is appropriate to create more than what they chose to experience
8.
I am safe to create wealth. I am always following my spiritual
guidance, it does not matter how much money I have, I always choose this
9. Money is a god-given resource that I am choosing to use to bless my life and others
10. I am worthy and I am ready, I choose wealth now.
A
good addition to the above process is to recall any significant
childhood events around money that influenced your current beliefs and
perceptions. Use EFT to release any energy you still have from these
formative experiences with money.
When you are triggered by money
and start running your limiting beliefs and heavy emotions about money,
use EFT to release yourself immediately.
The more vibrant energy your radiate about money and the more gratitude you hold for money, the more money can flow to you.
People
in debt and who do not make enough money think about their money
problems every day of their lives. Wealthy, spiritual people are free
to engage in their life purpose allowing the money to flow free of any
worries.
Dear Geetha from B'lore sent this to me....
Tips for Better Life (www.ishafoundation.org)
1. Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. And while you walk, smile.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
3. Sleep for 7 hours.
4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
15. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead
invest your energy in the positive present moment.
16. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are
simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class
but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
17. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
18. Smile and laugh more.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
22. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
23. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey
is all about. Don't compare your partner with others.
24. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
25. Forgive everyone for everything.
26.. What other people think of you is none of your business.
27. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
28. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will.
Stay in touch.
29. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
30. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
31. The best is yet to come.
32. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
33. Do the right thing!
34. Call your family often.
35. Your inner most is always happy. So be happy.
36. Each day give something good to others.
37. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
38. Share this with someone you care about.
I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse, and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient one ton truck refused to start.
While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.
When opening the door he u nderwent an amazing transformation.. His face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
'Oh, that's my trouble tree,' he replied 'I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children.. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again.' 'Funny thing is,' he smiled,' when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before.'
We all need a Tree!
Life Isn't about waiting for The storm to pass, It's about learning to dance
HE draws the attention of the participants with a haunting sound produced by a thick metal cup.The stick that strikes the rim of the cup is taken round and round letting the sound to continue and taper off. Nithya Shanti is the master in white, teaching people how to make today the happiest day of their life at what he calls the Hadayoli Joyshop.
Blending spirituality, emotional wellbeing and physical fitness, Nithya Shanti brings in his Buddhist tradition from his six-year life as a forest monk. An MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, he opted out of corporate life and is now sharing his experience of "is-dom," He has just two words to help take people to enlightenment and that is "Be Loving."
Whatever our thoughts, words and actions, the Universe responds with an "And so it is." This makes our thoughts a reality. His workshop focuses on how to create a loving and joyous reality around us.
When we live consciously, we begin to balance the physical, energy, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and social dimensions of life. We learn to live in harmony with the natural principles of the Universe. This gives us the strength, clarity and energy to realise the purpose of our life, he says.
Physically it means to create a sense of lightness, physical freshness and alertness, flexibility and stamina, energetically to have abundant energy and enjoy a high level of activity, emotionally to be expressive and open, intellectually to provide clarity and depth of thinking, spiritually to have a strong sense of values based on love and compassion for oneself and others and socially to be financially independent, with a healthy relationship with family and community.
He teaches the practice of a five-minute miracle that helps the individual to focus positive energy toward any specific outcome with relationships or situations.
He draws four sublime attitudes called the Brahma Viharas which are also mentioned by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutra: Metta (Maitri) – loving friendliness to all, Karuna – compassion to all, Mudita – joy in another's accomplishments and Upekka (Upeksha) – equanimity in accepting both loss and gain, praise and blame, success and failure with detachment. www.lovingsilence.orgswahilya.soulmate@...
Someone sent this to me this morning...it is a true
story of how compassion saved a relationship.
It touched my heart.
Compassion
A client came to me with serious relationship issues. She felt her marriage was definitely heading toward a divorce. She and her husband had already spoken of it many times.
She felt they were very different in their approach to life. She had tremendous ambition and drive to make a lot of money, and he preferred to relax and coast on what they had in the bank, not feeling the need to work much. She saw
him as negative, lazy and overly cautious. He saw her as defensive, spoiled and selfish. Their constant fighting was leading them down the path of separation quickly.
During our coaching session, she mentioned that he had
experienced a lot of loss and distancing in his personal relationships, and he had a fear of early death. His parents died in their 50's, his aunt died when he was 10, and his son and his sister don't really talk to him
anymore. I asked her to look at life from his perspective. Someone who is afraid he's going to die early wants to take it easy and isn't really interested in saving for the future or working extra hard for the someday that may never
come. His fear of loss was so great that it kept him from embracing life, her, and most other relationships. It was as if he was still the child that experienced all those losses and as the adult, couldn't really look at life any
differently.
My client saw that her husband wasn't being lazy, negative and overly cautious. He was defending what life he thought he had left and being protective of getting hurt from being close to others. She saw him as the hurt child and suddenly
had great compassion for him. She felt her heart soften so much that she's dropped her strong defensive mechanism (that typically kicked in during an argument) and feels only love, compassion and understanding for him now.
Her relationship has improved drastically because her understanding and insight has allowed her be more unconditionally loving and compassionate. He responds to her in a more loving way. She feels a huge shift occurring
between them and sees the tremendous potential for a loving, caring and compassionate relationship.
PS: Please do not force anyone to come for this SMS joyshop...or it will become a SMS cryshop!
PPS: It is highly recommended (but not demanded!) that the young adults who are keen to attend try the following exercise daily for 2 weeks.
FIVE MINUTE MIRACLE: THE ART OF MANIFESTATION
Before starting, choose a relationship or situation you would like to see improved/ changed/ created!
Step 1: Be at ease
Sit with your eyes closed. Take a moment to relax. The easiest way to relax is to become aware of the sensations in your body. Notice how your body feels touching the chair or bed.
Take a few deep breaths. You could do the 4-step breath-in and breath-out.
Step 2: Think and visualize of the BPO (best possible outcome)
ï€ Now let yourself think about the relationship or situation that you would like to transform.
Picture the person involved in this relationship in your mind's eye (or) Imagine a symbol to represent the situation (e.g. a dollar sign to represent financial issues). Surround the whole image with beautiful pink light which represents pure love.
For relationships:
(1) Imagine the two of you interacting with one another in a way you would like.
(2) Imagine both of you saying or doing something positive.
(3) See the two of you smiling at one another.
For situations: Imagine this situation being resolved in a positive way. You do not need to know how it will be resolved, simply imagine that a positive solution is on its way.
Remember it does not matter if you can see an image. A thought is as powerful as an image.
Step 3: Feel a positive emotion – feel good
Feel a positive emotion like joy as you watch this image. Feel joy.
Come into "vibrational alignment" with your aspirations by feeling as though this has already happened.
ï€ See yourself joyfully celebrating the transformation of this relationship/situation.
Step 4 : Verbalise
Verbalise the outcome/ affirmation 6-7 times. End by saying "All I need is within me now!"
Step 5 : Release
Let the image go and the feeling to subside
Remember to be persistent!
Repeat the five minute miracle every day for two weeks. Two or three times a day will bring quicker results.
If, throughout your day, you find yourself mentally rehearsing the conflict / this seemingly impossible situation, remind yourself that the power of love is taking care of this and imagine how you will feel when the positive solution arrives.
Record your experiences with this exercise in your journal.
You will get positive results, but you may need to continue to use the power of love if you want the changes to become permanent.
