If you use your computer for more than two hours a day then this will be useful to you.
"Workrave" is a software that reminds / forces one to take regular micro-breaks from working on the computer, thereby reducing the physical and mental stress which occur due to uninterrupted usage.
Unlike other break-reminder software (which I have recommended in the past), this one is completely free. A fine gift to the world from the people who designed it!
It has some good stress releasing features. For example: guided body stretching & eye exercise sessions during breaks.
I can further recommend we can also use the micro-breaks to...
1.notice tension in the body and consciously relax
2.smile (for no good reason),
3.breathe deep,
4. drink some water
(forgetting to smile, breath & drink enough water are 3 leading causes for disease & death!)
5. notice the other human beings around (!),
6. return to the present moment,
7. choose a better feeling thought,
8. fill the heart with love,
9. look around with a sense of gratitude
10. assist someone
11. appreciate someone or something aloud
12. spread a positive rumour
13. do a round of EFT
14 re-focus, re-prioritize, ask "what is the most important I need thing to do now?""
15. now do it!
Remember the story of the wood-cutter who refused to sharpen his axe because he was too busy?
He never realized that taking the time to do so would actually enhance the efficiency of his work manifold.
Similarly taking regular breaks from work is not time wasted, but time well invested.
You may also be aware, the germ theory has been debunked! These days scientists know that the root cause of
disease is actually stress.
