FIVE WISHES for 2009 WORKSHEET

Here is a valuable guide to asking five questions to clarify your intentions for 2009.

The Invitation

Are you willing to receive the gift of the question and use it to create a more fulfilled 2009?

If you are, transport yourself in your imagination to the end of the year 2009.

Imagine it is Dec 31, 2009, and I am visiting you.

The Questions

I ask you: Was the year 2009 a complete success?

If you answer "No," ask yourself the main reason 2009 was not a total success, and write it down in the space below.

(Of course, it's also possible that you might answer my question with a "Yes." Take a moment to write down the five experiences or accomplishments that made it a success.)

The main reason 2009 was not a total success is because I didn't _____________________________________________.

Now write down four other reasons.

2009 was not a complete success because I didn't __________________.
2009 was not a complete success because I didn't __________________.
2009 was not a complete success because I didn't __________________.
2009 was not a complete success because I didn't __________________.

Your Five Wishes

Now, turn those reasons into wishes.

For year 2009 to have been a total success, I wish I'd _______________________________________________.

And I wish I'd ____________________________________________.
I also wish I'd ___________________________________________.
And _____________________________________________.
And _____________________________________________.

Top Five Reasons for Success

Now ask yourself what five actions / attitudes lead to making this a successful year.

First and foremost, 2009 was a success because I _______________________________________________.

I also succeeded because I ___________________________________.
And because I ______________________________________________.
And because I ______________________________________________.
And because I ______________________________________________.

Affirmations: Your Path Forward

Now for the really good news: You don't have to wait until the end of the year 2009 to turn your wishes into reality!

Begin the process by writing your wishes as right-now, present-tense affirmations. Write your wishes like they are already achieved and you are enjoying the results.

I enjoy ________________________________________.
(Example: I am enjoying a loving, thriving and supportive relationship with everyone in my family.)

And ____________________________________________.
And ________________________________________________.
And __________________________________________________.
And ______________________________________________________.

Remember
Your wishes are living, breathing expressions that can be changed, revised and re-prioritized. Work with them, play with them, use them as navigational tools to guide your way, share them with your friends and family.

Above all, enjoy the process!

The Gift
I learnt "The Five Wishes" process from Gay Hendricks, its a book I recommend.
