Hi everyone,
I read Dr. Jayanth's wonderful story...Congratulations!...Here's a laptop one.
I've wanted to get a laptop for a while now (been blaming the absence of one
for my lack of productivity! )...but couldn't find one in a price range that I
wanted (cheap) and in a configuration that I liked (with everything!) . Being on
a student budget, I've been following websites that post daily deals that are
available at various stores for a while. Usually I would have logged online on
Sundays somewhere around noon, but this Sunday I was forced out of bed early to
twirl, stretch, breathe....apparent ly monks are equally energetic and
conscientious on Sunday mornings (I am the lucky beneficiary of Nyanasanti's
presence here in Minneapolis) .
After checking emails, news, etc., I checked the regular deal websites and there
was a great laptop at a surprisingly low price. On these websites there are
discussion forums, and people were speculating that it would be impossible to
get this laptop since its price was lowered by close to 50%. Nevertheless, I
checked out the store where the laptop was being sold and it was still available
and so I placed the order after thinking about it for about 5 minutes. This
incidentally has been the fastest I've ever made a decision involving a
significant sum of money! In fact, two of friends couldn't believe that I made
such a quick decision.... I would ordinarily spend at least a month prior to
deciding on a purchase like this.
In any case I placed the order, and received a note informing me that they would
let me know if the laptop was available at the local store for pick-up. They
could let me know only 45 minutes after the store opened (10am). It was around
9.00 then and so I kept reading the forums. People in different parts of the
country were already reporting that either the company was not honoring the
online purchase or that the laptops were not in stock at the local stores. I
felt quite discouraged as it seemed that the odds of getting this laptops were
low...then decided to try the Law of Attraction (LoA). I closed my eyes and
visualized myself being completely productive using the laptop, and looking back
I realize I "let go"...was very peaceful with the outcome either way. I opened
my eyes...I was still sitting by the computer then...and noticed that I had
received another email ( 9.38 am). This email indicated that I could come and
pick up my laptop as my order was processed.
This was about 1 hour before they should have let me know! I felt very
grateful.
I went later in the afternoon and picked up my laptop..it works great...and has
all the features I need and more! I confess having some doubts whether it was
really as good a product as I thought or whether it was just a strange
coincidence and I was merely attributing it to LoA (ah, the rational mind)...so
I kept reading the forums the last couple of days...it turns out that many
people (literally thousands as per one analysis) wanted this laptop and most of
their orders were canceled for one reason or the other....this laptop deal is
considered one of the best value offerings in a long time. I wanted to highlight
this to convey that the probability of getting this specific laptop on that
particular day for that price was extremely low...and I have no doubt now that I
wouldn't have received it were it not for using the principles of LoA.
I am thankful to LoA, Ny (for introducing me to it) and the 5 Tibetan wake-up
call, and for so much more....one of which is helping me understand how
"thoughts become things"...and giving me the confidence that if a product such
as a laptop can be manifested, it is equally possible to manifest happiness,
joy, and all positive things.
There is indeed much to be grateful for and my learning has just begun.
Thanks,
Devasheesh

Subject: The Law of Attraction
Dear Bhante
I have had many experiences that have kept me in awe with the law of
attraction. However this one tops it all. I have been grappling with getting
through with all my minor corrections on my Phd thesis. I defended my thesis
successfully last July. However, my examiners had not signed off on all my
corrections. This is a nagging problem and all along I was resisting this
experience. I just kept wishing that they just sign off as I had done everything
I could to fix all of what they had said I should. One Monday morning I woke up
and decided to take the day off. I had taught all day Sunday and so I thought
that this was a deserved break for me.
That morning it occurred to me that I was actually resisting something and
focusing on the negative. I then thought to myself, there must be something
wrong that I am doing here. This was a fleeting thought which quickly vanished.
I then went to the book store and as soon as I entered the store, I saw this DVD
– The Secret Behind The Secret. I bought the DVD and told myself, this will be a
good way to spend the day. So I went back home and watched all the three
episodes on the DVD. This DVD has Esther and Jerry in conversation with an
interviewer. The first episode is about how Jerry and Esther came to Abraham and
the next two episodes is Abraham speaking to the interviewer. I had tears in my
eyes when I watched this. It was immediately apparent to me that my resistance
to the Phd was the energy I was creating. I immediately opened a word document
and Typed – Dr. Jayanth Narayanan (PhD, Name of my school) a few times. I felt
truly and fully accomplished. I let the feeling
of culmination of all those years of hard work come to fruition and felt
grateful for having the opportunity to be able to engage in my studies. I felt
so relieved and grateful and joyous at this time. After watching this, I took a
quick break and had a cup of tea. By this time it was 4:00 PM in Singapore .
I logged back on my mail at about 4:30 PM. NOW, as soon as I logged on, there
was a mail from the PhD programme office of my school in London (first thing
Monday morning for them ie. 9:30 am). The mail said – "Congratulations. All your
corrections to the theses have been approved. You will now receive the degree at
the congregation in July". I was awe-struck, but not surprised!! I was deeply
grateful to the universe for taking care of me. I felt completely protected and
taken care of. I am truly grateful for everything that is a part of my life.
Thank you Bhante from the bottom of my heart for being the guiding light that
brought such a wonderful principle of life and the universe to my attention (or
is it attraction!! ).
In Gratitude
Dr. Jay J
