I think the diarrhea is a reaction to exposure to Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether .... and that the constipation may more accurately be described as Locked Bowel ... an advanced autoimmune issue for too much exposure to this or similar chemicals
My husband is not feeling well - a gastrointestinal problem
Intestines have stopped working ... 4 days now
Started up after some maintenance work on rentals. After installing a new toilet in one place ... took hours .... Then used Liquid Nails (Lots of bad stuff there) & fix-all to add filler & level one side of bathroom floor - Took several hours
For this 'lack of elimination' ... no bowel movement ...
He went to the pharmacist, and she pointed him towards lots of laxative choices.
I am very upset with MiraLAX that he got & has just started using:
Polyethylene Glycol 3350 It is a powder ... don't use if you are allergic. Has only been out for three years now, with last 6 months 'over the counter' available - same strength as prescription

This stuff should produce diarrhea if you only had regular constipation ..... from exposure to that chemical most probably, (Well at least it doesn't have the BUTYL part of Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether that I suspect for CFIDS & autoimmune issues such as these.)
But if it is what I suspect, an autoimmune issue brought on by chemical exposure/s ... it will make matters worse.
I wish he would take glyconutrients

Most probably ... it was too much exposure to the horrible chemicals in
Liquid Nails - He used them in a bathroom for several hours

That's more than just constipation ... can elevate to an autoimmune issue in which the intestines lock up and cease to function. May be Locked Bowel Syndrome
