Well, the doctor's are still not sure whether
they will be having him go through radiation or not.
He had two tumors also, one in front of his heart,
and one on his lung. They say they are going to wait
until after the six cycles of chemo to decide. I guess
they will be doing the bone marrow tests to decide. My
husband has not been staged because they don't have a
case to use as a guideline. If they had not removed
the tumors, they would have definitely gone with
radiation, if they knew he had HD they would have definitely
not done the surgery! A lot of people told us they
should be sued for malpractice, but believe me, we went
through 3 different biopsies, they were trying to
ascertain what this was, they thought it was his thymus
gland. One doctor told us that when they biopsied his
mass, it was full of fluid, so when they took a sample,
it was like putting a grain of sand in a large body
of water and expecting to extract that grain in one
needle pull. They knew it wasn't normal, but they didn't
know what it was. They say that normally cancer is a
hard mass, sometimes though, it progresses so far that
it starts to break down.

I am sort of
suprised that your doctor has not talked about radiation
either. Perhaps he is trying not to hit you with
everything at once.

I am very glad to hear that you
are studying, there are a lot of things that you
won't understand when the doctors are all in talking at
once, it helps to be a little knowledgeable. It also
helps to know that they have a lot of different
treatments available.

My husband has had 4
treatments, and he still has hair, so he is glad of that! He
is on the ABVD regimen.

We will keep in touch
with you. You are embarking on a long journey, but
know that you are not alone. If you have any more
questions, hopefully if we can't answer a question, someone
else on this site can.

God Bless You
