Having problems with message search?

Did I miss something? I've noticed the list activity stopped for a month of so, then a couple of msgs came trickling through, and nothing more in the last couple of weeks. What gives?
Just bought a qxci-scio device, and having a lot of fun with it. It has a subspace mode than can target people remotely, which I'm trying to get my mind around how it might work. All you enter is the persons name, birthdate, location, etc. Is it as simple as making some kind of waveform hash out of the data and adding it to the waveforms generated?
