This group is for people who are in recovery from alcoholism and/or drug addiction and who also have severe physical injuries or painful illnesses such as cancer, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, neuropathy, arthritis, or muscular sclerosis.
Those of us who participate in recovery programs have sometimes found that we are discouraged from discussing our concerns about pain management or medications. Because it is necessary for some of us to take prescription medications in order to function, we may fear being accused of relapsing by other people in recovery programs.
If you wish to join this group, please tell us a little about yourself and why you want to join us in the online form you will be provided. What you choose to tell us about yourself will be referenced by a moderator when they post a welcome message introducing you to the group.

Please respect the privacy of everyone in this group and refrain from discussing what has been shared here outside of this group.
The very nature of this group's purpose will occasionally bring up controversial ideas and topics. If a moderator calls for a topic to be dropped, please drop it immediately.
