Remodeling could have done it all by itself ... or been a primary influencing factor. Many solvents used in carpentry ... would contain very strong chemical components like I'm concerned about. And getting those vapors in the eyes would be the exposure.
I think people who live in houses that they are remodeling could especially be exposed to it. Even pets. I heard of a man who came down with ALS ... he commented that it started during such a time. I've heard of pets who seem to be affected in similar situations
Feeling cold ... and inabililty to regulate body temp, I think is a function of the hypothalamus ... maybe the blood affects it too. The fatigue that 2-butoxyethanol causes is autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Per definition, signs to look for are these:
Chills
Fatigue
Pale color
Shortness of breath
Rapid heart rate * *
Yellow skin color (jaundice)
Dark urine (indicative of blood in urine - never dismiss this! Stop exposure immediately!)
Red blood cells that are small-sized, fragility of membranes, etc
Enlarged spleen *
Did your son have blood in urine? Does he still?
and other signs ... that are part of the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or more precisely CFIDS
Pres FDR had the chills, horrible headache ... at the end of his life.
... as he went to bed he was 'shivering'
(chills?)
They have also determined that it was not polio that he had in 1921, but an autoimmune dysfunction: Guillain-Barre syndrome.
I would suspect that was an effect of the exposure to bomb fumes in WWI. When he was Assist Sect of the US Navy he got as close to the front lines as they would let him. On the return Voyage (1917 or 1918?) he came down with a strange influenza. I would like to know more about this. I suspect it was part of the Spanish Flu - virus a side effect of a chemical poisoning. I think that is really what Bird Flu is today
Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP)?
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a neurological disorder characterized by progressive weakness and impaired sensory function in the legs and arms. The disorder, which is sometimes called chronic relapsing polyneuropathy, is caused by damage to the myelin sheath (the fatty covering that wraps around and protects nerve fibers) of the peripheral nerves. Although it can occur at any age and in both genders, CIDP is more common in young adults, and in men more so than women. It often presents with symptoms that include tingling or numbness (beginning in the toes and fingers), weakness of the arms and legs, loss of deep tendon reflexes (areflexia), fatigue, and abnormal sensations. CIDP is closely related to Guillain-Barre syndrome and it is considered the chronic counterpart of that acute disease.
... listed under Autoimmune Nervous System Diseases along with MS
I think the primary issue of CFIDS & of these Central Nervous System autoimmune issues that grow out of it (& I only know about the chemical exposure of 2-butoxyethanol for causing such) ... would be having an autoimmune immune system. If you can stop the immune system from attacking you ... you can stop the growing harm. That's why I believe the cell-to-cell communication research is so valuable. That is why I think glyconutrient trials are being successful in diabetes & cerebral palsey ... and one even now in scleroderma. Good results are being medically documented for many ailments; although they don't claim to heal anything. The theory as I see it, is that the body is given the nutritional supplements it needs to function properly and the body heals itself. So, that presupposes a strong focus on good nutrition in the first place.
I personally believe that the more meds people take the worse they are in most cases ... because you are dealing with a chemical poisoning in the first place, and when you add more chemicals, you add to a person's allowable chemical load ... that they can 'tip you over the edge' to worse and worse effects ... not better and better results which are hoped for
Regarding being exposed to new people. This chemical appears to have a strong second hand exposure. Someone can come around who is getting it out of their system, and can expose people they are close to. So watch how your child's body complains ... And one person who gets too much of 2-butoxyethanol can pass it on to others in the family. The immune system starts attacking you when you feel like you have the flu. But it starts out with loosing of the sinuses and farting to full fledged flu-like symptoms. For me, I don't throw up, but I get diarrhea big time and in short order when I'm around this chemical. Just a little in the house can cause the running nose after a few hours. Air our the house. Turn on the stove and bathroom vents ... get it out of your house, and be proactive in noticing what is going on with each person in your family which a 'cold' starts up.
Yes, I do remember clearly what was going on with my son when he got the horrible case of the Influenza A it was last March. He was having a horrible time with his asthma and he all this sudden started getting better. He was in school the day before and I picked him up early and took him to the doctor for a check up and after we got out of there I thought that is wierd Kyle kept saying he was cold. I got him home and he slept like a nap as usual for 2 hours. When he woke up he had a 104 fever. He didn't eat anything. The next morning I decided he had to back to the doctor. The fever was not comming down with all I tried. When I got him in there they hospitalized him due to him not being able to lift his head and he was really stiff. So when we got him to the hospital he ( he was almost 4 at this time) was very sick. They almost put him in PICU. They did all this testing and saw nothing, but Influenza A. And he had blisters all over his right ear. 24 hours later the fever was gone but my son could not walk, sit, even roll over, he had troubles speaking (he already has a speech delay but it was much worse) and drooling terrible. I fought with the doctors to do an MRI. They refused. They did 2 CAT Scans. Which showed nothing. So after 3 days of this I was trying to get him on his feet and he had no balance. I at that time wanted my son out of theere so I could drive to Detroit and have his neurologist see this. So about 2 weeks later when I was able to get him in to the neurologist he freaked and said he needed an MRI immediately. That is when we got the results that he has some form of Leukodystrophy because the White Matter change had double'd in size. He is to young for MS. Now here in August he has significant dammage done from all of that he walks to left now, the left side of his face shows it, he need help with eating. and is having a harder time than usual coming back with his speech. Now what was going on at that time well we were remoldeling cause we havd a severe problem with mold, and my kids are consantly exposed to new people. So I am not sure about that. Thinking that was the casue of all of his problems. Now I am just not sure what to think.
Anyways I am going to look that up cause it would put a lot of sence to our family but it had to of had to do something to both my husband and I.
Thank you Angie
