I've been MIA for a while and I apologize. I have been working on
some projects that have taken up a lot of my time lately and last
week went through battling a major stomach virus.

I am still on the plan, and even though my weight hasn't dropped much
I have continued to go down in sizes. Had to pick up a couple of
blazers last week and I now wear a size 6! Yep a size 6! And a size 8
in pants. I think I still weigh about the same that I did last week
which was 175 (which I'm still amazed that I wear this size) but my %
of fat and mass is the lowest it has ever been.

My original goal was 150 lbs but I'm not sure about that now because
of how small I'm getting. At first I wanted to get into a size 8 but
now that I'm there I see that I still need to tone my hip and thigh
area. I may still stick with that goal because doing so would put my
BMI at 23.5 and that would allow me to request my insurance company
to lower my premium. But then I think what size would I end up in?
I'm hoping nothing smaller than a 6!

Who would have thought I would ever have this problem! LOL I will
tell you there is no feeling in the world then going into a store and
trying on a size 6! Even if I can't fit size 6 pants YET - just being
able to fit the top is amazing!

Anyway - I have some sweat suits, and a couple of other pieces if
anyone wants them in a size 14/16. I can leave them at the office.
Let me know. Take care!

Pam

I'm here! I had a great week last week--4 pounds! I started
exercising, and it seems to have made a difference. I weigh myself
everyday, and I noticed that with the exercise, I don't have as much
weight gain on those days when I am less than perfect with the eating
program.

I went shopping and found size 18W pants that fit so I am no longer
buying size 20W. Has anyone noticed that there is a difference in
the Plus (Women's) size 16W and Misses size 16? I looked up a size
chart online, and to fit into a Misses 16, I have to lose an extra
size, from 18W, to 16W, to Misses 16. Then I will stop shopping in
the Plus Sizes!

My husband and son go out to dinner every Friday. I used to pig out
with them pre-diet, but now I go window shopping instead and look at
all the clothes I want to fit into, and buy news ones in my smaller
size.

Does anyone on this program work uptown and want to go walking on our
lunch break? I work in 101 S. Tryon and would love to have a
lunchtime walking partner.

I just found a great high protein lower carb yogurt at Lowe's Foods.
The brand name is Blue Bunny and it's called "Sweet Freedom." One 6
oz container has 90 calories, 3 gr fat, only 70 mg sodium, 5g carb,
and 9g of protein. The ingredients are skim milk, flavor base
(favors, food starch, sucralose, potassium sorbate and colors), cream,
whey protein concentrate, kosher gelatin, vitamins and cultures. I
hope this is an "okay" food to have as I was very excited to find such
a low carb yogurt when most of them have far more carbs than protein.
I have only been on this diet 3 weeks, but already I hate the thought
of eating another protein shake or bar.

Hey I would direct this just to Dr C but I figured everyone would want
to know the answer to this question.
Tuesday when we bring our clothes, should they be on hangers, should
they be labeled, etc? I didnt know if you and Alicia have set up
an "area" for this or how this is going to work. I have so many
different sizes of clothes. The thing is, do you need my size 18,20,
22, 24, 26's? Just asking. Cant wait to see all of you Tuesday.
see ya

I had 136 lbs I wanted to lose.  I have lost 70lbs so far.  I started the diet in March.  My suggestion is to stay on program and eat eat eat PROTEIN!  I eat a shake, protein bar, or egg beaters for breakfast.  Excersise is very important also as well as water.

Good luck and yes please keep us up to date with your progress.

love the diet overall and have lots more energy than when I was eating
junk food all day.

I have my first weigh in on Saturday--wish me luck!

Devin

Congratulations!

I have know exactly what you mean! I haven't posted in a while
because I have been stressed and off my plan. I have been off phen
for a month and go to see Dr. C today to get back on and I can not
wait! I had the other pills but taking them 3 times a day was not
happening! For the last two weeks I have been stressed with my
businesses and everything else so I have not been working out or
eating right. I got on the scale this morning and saw that I gained 5
lbs so I am looking forward to seeing Dr. C. I actually think the
break from the meds and the time off from exercising will allow me to
jump back in full force!

Like you Devin I want to get to 150 lbs but my goal was by my
birthday on October 3rd. Right now I'm still hovering around 180 so I
do not think it's going to happen but that's OK - I'll just reset my
date!

Anyways. If you think 16 feels great, wait until you hit 14 and you
can shop in the regular stores!

Take care!

Pam

I couldn't wait to share this information, and for all of us who are
losing weight and getting into smaller clothes can understand my
excitement. Today I went, well yesterday to Lane Bryant for some new
bras since I'm losing those things, and to get a few pair of pants
for the fall. They are having a buy 1 get 1 half off everything in
the store sale, plus you get real women dollars. Anyways......I am
currently wearing a 18, but thought let me try on a 16 just to see
how much more I have to go, and guess what praise the Lord they fit,
now they were a little tight in some areas, but no belly fat hanging
over the waist. I called Dr. C office on my way home, just because I
wanted to say Thank you, Thank you for helping me get this far. I
can't remember being in a 16 since I was in the 5th grade. Yes 5th
grade, but it felt so good. I can't wear the shirts there at all. I
can now wear a XL in most stores. Again I don't think this has ever
been a size I can recall. I have been a 3X for 10+ years, and this
feels so good. I just had to share. Thank you all for listening.

To date after Wednesday's visit I have lost 68lbs. I have 68lbs. to
go. I was off the PHEN for a month, and boy was I ever glad to go
back on. I also started the HCG back after a month off as well. I
hope this will kick start another great weight loss cycle. My goal
is to be 150 lbs by January 2008. My next goal is when I reach
200lbs I will be getting my first tattoo. I hope to hit this by my
30th Birthday September 2nd.

Anyways....If you can't tell I can't sleep, my mind is racing 100
miles a minute. But thank you for listening, and keep up the great
work you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And DR. C and STAFF - THANK YOU

I dont know why it has taken me so long to listen to Dr. C.
Protein, Protein, Protein (lightbulb). I totally exceeded my
protein everyday this week. I ate those nasty hard boiled egg
whites, I found a protein bar that isnt half bad, and I started
eating red meat again after years of not eating it. It paid off. I
lost 4 pounds. I was shocked. When he tells us this stuff, he isnt
saying it to waste our time. He knows what hes talking about. I
FINALLY see the protein connection. Duh!

I had to laugh today when I called my mom and told her that I lost
4lbs. She called me her "incredibly shrinking daughter". Ive lost
54 pounds. That like a 7 year old, or something. LOL. Im just
finally out of my funk and excited. I have 30-40 to go.

Dr C has some new chips that yall need to try. They are really
good. If I say they are good, then they are good because I dont
like anything. LOL!

Well Im going to bed now. Im tired. We left Dr C's and went to
Blowing Rock, NC and Linville Caverns. I walked like 100 miles
today. Ok maybe not 100, but it felt like it.

To my surprise (not sure why I even use that word anymore) I only lost
1.6 lbs. The reason I said only is because as you saw from my last post
I went shopping and I now wear a size 10 and even some 10's were loose
on me. I looked at my BMI, fat % and fat mass since I started and it's
no wonder I haven't lost much weight. I've replaced it with lean muscle
tissue.

When I started on March 8th, 2007 my BMI was 30.7, my percentage of fat
was 41.1%, and my fat mass was 80.61 lbs. Today my BMI is 27.9, my
percentage of fat is 36.5%, and my fat mass was 65.01 lbs! Everything
in my body has shifted. So even though I haven't lost tons of weight I
have lost fat and inches! And for the record I'm 5'7 weigh 178 and wear
a size 10 and some 8's! Weight is not as important as how you look and
feel. As long as I continue to drop those numbers above then that's
mainly what I care about. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

XOXOXOX

Glenda -

One pound a week is better than staying at the same weight like I
have been! You have to consider that at some point your body has to
slow down! You don't have that much left to lose so your body won't
continue to "dump" 3 or more lbs a week. It's not possible and also
it's not healthy. Your body has time to adjust and that decreases the
chances of you gaining the weight back again.

Remember - you want this weight to go away and never come back! If it
takes longer then no biggie. That's the attitude you have to have.

Also for the record - you look wonderful! Enjoy the process and focus
on what you've accomplished so far. That's what I've done and it's
been so much more rewarding!I'm content with where I'm at with my
weight loss journey. Sure, I still want to lose more and I have goals
but if I stayed at this weight I would be at peace with it.

The funny thing is I have been saying this for a few weeks now and I
went shopping yesterday and when I went to try on size 12 I was
swimming in it! Then when I went to try on some of the size 10's they
were too large too! It turns out I could actually fit into a few size
8's! Shocked the you know what out of me!!! Why? Because I haven't
lost any more weight but I have continued to lose inches!

Imagine my surprise! This was just yesterday! Some of the 10's fit
perfectly but for most I had a bit of wiggle room and some were even
down right lose! That's what I focus on because guess what? My weight
has not changed much!

TO EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD!!!!!

Take the focus off of the scale ladies and focus more on how you FEEL
& how you LOOK! And most importantly - Enjoy the process! It will
happen if you remain committed and stay focused!

Hugs & Kisses!
Pam

Chicken. I think I have started to grow feathers. LOL! I hate

He laughs at me cause Im such a picky eater. People wonder how I

things I do eat, I just ate huge amounts of. Not anymore of
course. I do like the new protein cookies that he carries. I cant
do shakes of any kind. Lets talk about soy, YUCK! I can smell soy
in a vacuum sealed bag. LOL! I think this whole lack of protein
thing is why I have been in a losing slump. Im gonna hit the
grocery store tomorrow and stock up on eggs, low fat string cheese,
apples (no protein but a good snack)and whatever else I can find
thats hign in protein, low in calories, carbs, and fat.
I think Im just anxious to get to the end on this. I need to
realize that I didnt gain this weight overnight, Im sure not going
to lose it that way. Ive gone from a very tight size 24 to a 14/16
and Im very happy. I never thought I would ever see that again.
One more size and Ill never have to shop and Lane Bryant ever

the places to lose it that wasnt my 1st choice.

Devin -

Thanks for jumping in. It's not easy but I have to remember where I
started. My highest weight almost two years ago was 250 lbs+ (I
stopped getting on the scale after that). At that time I would have
been THRILLED (did I say THRILLED) to weight in anywhere near 175-180
and to wear a size WHAT? A size 10!

So I had to remind myself of that on yesterday - I've come far and
most importantly I have not really gained anything back. I go back
and look at my 250 lbs pictures (which I refuse to post b/c I was in
a work out outfit and you can see it ALL! LOL) and then I see me now
and it immediately checks that negative attitude.

To have lost 65 lbs since March is AMAZING! I have lost 70 lbs total
and it has taken me 1 1/2 years! See what I mean??? We all want
instant gratification but reality is we have to live and that means
that we WILL not always follow the plan. You have to learn to find a
happy medium so that you can make these adjustments to live the rest
of your life. As we know this is not a temporary fix. So that's what
I work the hardest on - changing my lifestyle and eating habits. I've
committed to eating healthy and working out and I know that if I
breathe each day I need to eat healthy each day and exercise most
(haven't got to that everyday point yet.

For me I decided when I left yesterday that in order for me to work
through this plateau I would need to kick up my exercise a notch. I
felt like I was doing great since I was walking at 4.2 or 4.3 miles
per hour so I came home and walked at 4.2 mph then jogged at 4.5 to
4.7 mph to rev my heart up. I increased my water and made sure I
followed my diet to a T.

I leave for a week to go to California next week and it's a very
important business trip one that can help make my career in the
speaking business so it's important that I look and feel my best when
I go. My original goal was to get down to 170 before I leave. Now
it's 175. I don't really need to lose the weight to go but it's more
of a personal goal of getting my body out of the "funk" and back into
fat burning mode before I take that long trip (and my body attempts
to hibernate!)

I will post next week before I leave but the rest of this week try
switching up your workout routine and pushing more water (that will
flush the stored water - believe it or not). Also try to eat every 2-
3 hrs. That's real important. You'll see the rest of that weight come
off in no time!

take care!

Pam

I couldn't agree more.  I have not had a good week.  I didn't gain.  I maintained, but I did lose 2 lbs of body fat this week.  I have lost a total of 65 lbs since March.  Still counting down.  I had a sweet tooth this past week, but didn't go crazy, plus my water weight was up also over a pound.  I look to having a better week next week.

Thank you for posting your info.  I do think this helps.  Alicia said to me today, why didn't I utilize the message board while I was having a bad week.  I told her I thought it was due to the time of the month, and it would pass, but the truth is we do need each other more during the tough times then ever.

Keep up the great work!  I hope to be in that 10 with you soon!

My stats:

Starting Weight of 286 lbs (size 26) on 03/14/07 and as of 07/18/07 221.4 lbs. (size 18)  I couldn't tell you what my BMI started at, or my body fat, due to I don't have my first sheet, but as of today it is BMI 36.8, Fat% 39.0 (which I can remember was 50% or more when I started), and my Fat Mass is 86.4 lbs.

gain, then lose the same 3-5 lbs each week. At first it was starting
to get me bummed out (not enough to quit) but when I went in today
and spoke with Alicia she pointed something out to me and that's the
inches and fat loss. So in order to get the board back up and going I
wanted to post my updated stats from start to where I was last time I
posted my stats which was June 1st, 2007. Here they are:

I started this program with Dr. Croland on 3/8/07 at 196.2 and I
weighted in today, now 4 months later at 179.8! That's 16.4 lbs which
is 2.2 lbs more than I weighed last month on the 1st of June! (See
message: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/learn2lose/message/28)

The reason I'm not freaked out is because of what my body is doing.
I'm in a size 10! Before I was squeezing into a size 10. Now it fits.
No problem. I am tighter and toned so I'm certain that the shift in
weight and absence of weight loss is me putting on muscle.

Again her are my stats...

3/8/07 6/1/07 7/18/07 total lost
Weight 196.2 177.6 179.8 -16.4 lbs
BMI 30.7% 27.8% 28.2 -2.5%
Body Fat 41.1% 38.0% 36.7 -4.4%
Fat Mass 80.61% 67.41% 66.01 -14.6%

(Fat Mass is body fat so it's really like losing another 15 lbs!)

So even though my weight has stayed the same over the last 6 weeks I
have lost body fat, fat mass and inches. I decided to post this today
because I felt that someone (including me) might need the
inspiration.

We all love the big numbers but we did not put on 3-5 lbs a week so
it's not going to continue to come off 3-5 lbs a week. I'm in this
for the long haul and know (and see) all of the health benefits that
taking off this weight has done for me. If it takes me 6 months to
lose this last 25-30 lbs (my goal is 150 lbs) then so be it. I won't
be thrilled but I spent 15+ years of my life battling my weight.
What's 6 months?!?

Let's get this board back going. I wanna see some post DANG-IT!

wanted to post my updated stats from start to where I was last time I
posted my stats which was June 1st, 2007. Here they are:

I started this program with Dr. Croland on 3/8/07 at 196.2 and I
weighted in today, now 4 months later at 179.8! That's 16.4 lbs which
is 2.2 lbs more than I weighed last month on the 1st of June! (See
message: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/learn2lose/message/28)

The reason I'm not freaked out is because of what my body is doing.
I'm in a size 10! Before I was squeezing into a size 10. Now it fits.
No problem. I am tighter and toned so I'm certain that the shift in
weight and absence of weight loss is me putting on muscle.

Again her are my stats...

             3/8/07 6/1/07 7/18/07 total lost
Weight 196.2 177.6 179.8 -16.4 lbs
BMI 30.7% 27.8% 28.2 -2.5%
Body Fat 41.1% 38.0% 36.7 -4.4%
Fat Mass 80.61% 67.41% 66.01 -14.6%

(Fat Mass is body fat so it's really like losing another 15 lbs!)

So even though my weight has stayed the same over the last 6 weeks I
have lost body fat, fat mass and inches. I decided to post this today
because I felt that someone (including me) might need the
inspiration.

We all love the big numbers but we did not put on 3-5 lbs a week so
it's not going to continue to come off 3-5 lbs a week. I'm in this
for the long haul and know (and see) all of the health benefits that
taking off this weight has done for me. If it takes me 6 months to
lose this last 25-30 lbs (my goal is 150 lbs) then so be it. I won't
be thrilled but I spent 15+ years of my life battling my weight.
What's 6 months?!?

Let's get this board back going. I wanna see some post DANG-IT!
