Dear all,
My dear husband, Kelly, who has chronic lymphocytic leukemia and has taken LDN
since October 2007, has been taking milk thistle religiously since 2004. You
see, he'd had a CAT scan from his neck to his groin in 2004, looking for
enlarged nodes, enlarged spleen and enlarged liver. Co-incidentally, the scan
revealed the probability of mild to moderate cirrhosis, explaining his
fluctuating liver enzymes. Ever since taking milk thistle religiously, each
liver enzyme panel has come back with numbers squarely within the normal range.
I feel particularly blessed that he is taking milk thistle, as those having CLL
have a higher rate of developing secondary cancers.
Interestingly, our son contracted Hep C in the '80s from blood transfusions
he received while in the U.S. Navy. When it was discovered in the '90s that he
had Hep C, his specialist suggested that he begin using milk thistle straight
away. It is good to know, based on our most recent information concerning milk
thistle, that our son's already compromised liver may be less likely to develop
cancer than it otherwise would be.
Warm wishes to all,
Jan
