I guess I need any response ASAP, especially from you, Megan, as to having my
band emptied. I have surgery scheduled for the 29th and have appointments with
Tru Results aftercare to have it emptied as well as filled afterwards. Should
this be done with the benefit of the x-ray or does it really make any
difference? I've had two fills w/o fluro and they have been fine. I'll
appreciate any feed back from those that have had to do the same or from anyone
with Tru Results or AIGB or whatever it is now.

Thanks!
Sandy

Well if you're going to the Surgery Center in Hurst, you won't have any option but to have it without the x-ray. The lady who does the fills is pregnant, so they can't use the machine. Once she's found the spot, and re-filled you, she'll leave the room and Manny will have you drink the Barium under the flora, so he can be sure it goes through and your pouch is in good shape. If you aren't at the place off Precinct Line, then I'd do it with the xray, just because I've had a bad experience, but my mom's done it without, and had no issues, so that's just my preference.
When's your surgery? Let us know so we can keep you in our thoughts and prayers!
Take car and good luck!

Megan...Thanks so much for your feedback.  Like I said I've had 2 fill w/o benefit of x-ray and they were both fine so I guess I'll just keep my appt @ the TruResults office.  I presume the taking out is a no-brainer and I would guess that they just keep track of how much came out and put that amount back in.  SURELY, you don't have to do it in increments @ $150 a pop!

My surgery is the 29th, just day surgery to remove a honkin' big salivary stone.  They will take the entire gland out.  I most appreciate any and all prayers and uplifting...it certainly never hurts!  I'll post the day after to let you know I'm still among the living...just glandless!

Hope you're well!
Sandy

Having an unfill is a smart move and can be done safely without fluro.  Afterwards don't be surprised at having MORE restriction on less fluid, depending on how long you are unfilled. Dr Smith has also noticed this personally, so it's not just me imagining it!
When is your unfill? I'd like to talk to you about your stone.

I really hate to "unfill", but from everything I've been told, read & heard it's the smart thing to do.  I get the "unfill" this Wednesday, my surgery is the 29th and my "refill" is July 7th.  If you would like to call me to talk about the stone my cell ph # is 817/713-2189.  Are you having synptoms?  These are not soooo unusual, but the size of mine is out of bounds!  Normally the removal is done on an oral surgeon's office, but this one's just too big.
Thanks for your response.

Been meaning to post everyday, just busy!  The surgery went fine and the ENT said he had never seen a salivary stone that large.  I'm hoping I don't see my picture with my eyes blacked out and my hospital gown over my head in the Guiness Book of Records!

The part that thrilled me the most was I lost a little weight in the 10 or so days that my fill was "undone".  I don't feel that I could eat anymore than I normally do, just was able to eat some things I hadn't been able to for a long time, 1/2 of a biscuit w gravy, 3 shrimp, an 1/8th of a hamburger, etc.  Everyone in my family asked if I was going to "chow down", but to be perfectly honest, I don't think I can anymore under any circumstances.

So all is well...just to damn hot!

My best to all.
Sandy

Very happy to hear you are doing well with your surgery and continuing weight loss. That would be pretty bad if your 15 minutes of fame was how you described in Guiness. ha ha ha
