Im sorry the band didnt work for you. Maybe someday you will get insurance that will pay to remove your band. Best of luck to you in the future, but its time to move on. Focus your energies on moving forward and taking good care of yourself. Until you can have the band removed, you can still concentrate on eating healthy nutritious foods in reasonable portions and possibly lose some weight. Use the tips and advice shared here. Might as well get some benefit from your time being banded. Its only wasted time if you let it be. The band isnt the end all be all, it can only do so much. Maybe the band didnt need adjusting, maybe your brain needed a little tweaking to work with the band? Maybe it can work for you still, if you let it. It's not too late, until they actually remove it.
I worry that many people have unrealistic expectations of what the band can/is supposed to do and thats why they are disappointed or seeking answers to problems that may or may not be there. I could go on and on about this subject and give you lots of information, but wont beat you over the head unless you are willing to hear it. All you have to do is is ask. I've been banded for almost seven years, with no complications. I enjoy any foods that I want and have maintained an 80lb weight loss for over 5 years. I will say that I have not experienced the levels of restriction that most seem to be demanding and being disappointed by not getting. Life's too short to be miserable. Let me help you find a happy medium - being satisfied on smaller amounts of food, while steadily losing 1-2lbs a week and letting the band help you be satisfied with smaller amounts of food. It can be done......
Your situation sheds light on an extremely important point. Everyone should thoroughly check out their surgeon. Please dont take the word of one or two or even ten people. Gather facts and information and decide for yourself.
Giggles I truly hope you find answers and resolution and I am sorry you are in the situation you are in. I wish you nothing but the best.
