RE: [lapbandrapband] Questions!

Hi All. Hi Sandy! I had shoulder surgery at the end of February and they removed all my fluid for that. They said anytime you have surgery, there is a chance for swelling, and they want to make sure you'll be able to take all medication needed to heal. This was suggested to me by the surgery center, and they said they knew that's what my surgeon would reccomend. I had to pay for the un-fill and re-fill both. I know that sucks, but I do think it's the best decision to be positive you recover without any obstacles. Best of luck, take care, and keep us posted!!! Meghan

Subject: [lapbandrapband] Questions!

The possibility is looming large that I may have to have a BIG salivary stone removed which means surgery on my neck. It will be out-patient at a surgical center and I don't know that I will be intubated. I'm wondering if I will need to have the fluid removed from my band for this? Is this determined by the surgeon or by my lapband doc? If I'm not intubated do I need to do it all? Will I have to pay to have it removed as well as replaced? I'm sure there are other questions that I don't know to ask at this moment. So if anyone, civilian and/or professional has some answers, I would appreciate some feedback.

Sandy

PS...Hope all is well for everyone!
