Hello!  My name is Kristen and I want to see if anyone else out there has had the same problems that I have had.

I had my surgery in 06 and in the beginning I was doing really well with the band.  Then for the longest time I hit a plateau.  I noticed that after I got fills, it wasn't lasting very long until I felt like I needed another fill.  So by trial and error, the doctors have concluded that I have a leak in my band.  Since I have a 2 generations old band, they say this leak is somewhat common where the port and the band meet.  So we submit it to insurance and they don't want to pay.  The doctors office wants another $5,000 to replace my port.  I paid $15,000 to have the surgery and now because of a defect, they want me to pay another $5,000 to fix the port.

If I could get some help from the doctors office or the doctor, then we could go back to the insurance company and maybe get them to pay.  But I can not seem to get through to the doctors office to anyone that will help and my doctor is always in surgery!

Has anyone been through this fight with the insurance company or their doctor?
