Thanks for your input! I haven't seen Dr Marsden since my post-op amd it's my
fault for not having gone back. I intend to make an appointment tomorrow and
get a script for the diet pills. He had mentioned that to me, but I've just
never considered it. I am now!
I like Slim Fast, but it doesn't seem to stay with me for very long. Probably
all in my mind. I am going to try to do something every 4 hours and stop this
in-between thing. I need to eat some fruit when I need a sweet fix and stop all
the other crap I'm having.
Thank-you, Kesh. After hearing from you and Meghan I feel better already!

Hi Sandy, I feel your pain. I had both surgeries, the gastric bypass performed
by Dr. Lawernece Barzume, in 2000 and then the lap band in 2007. Dr. Marsden
performed my second surgery back in July and I down approx 15 lbs. I am going
to say this, only because I feel a need too, I am taking diet pills as well to
control my hungry. It works, really well. I am now on 1200 calorie diet. I
eat a slim fast 4 hr drink and then lean cusine, and then another lean cusine
for dinner and then if I feel hungry I drink another slim fast. I am trying to
excersie but I often run out of town. With the diet I am doing now, I have now
lost another 5 lbs in one week. I just thought I would share that with you.
Also medifast, works well with those who have had the surgery. So don't fret, I
am pulling for you.
Regards,
Kesh

This used to be such a wonderful posting board and I wish I knew what
has happened. I miss hearing how everyone was doing and getting
advice from those who have gone before me. To the best of my
knowledge even the AIGB monthly meetings are no more. I'm going to
toss this out and if it goes without any response I guess I'll delete
this group from my computer and try to find something else.
I had my surgery over a year ago and have only lost 45 pounds. Right
now I am putting weight back on because I have reverted to old habits
and don't know what to do. Rather I do know what to do, but don't
seem to have the drive to get there. I started back smoking thinking
that would keep me from eating, but that was exchanging one bad habit
for another. I've been trying to quit again and am back scouring for
food. I keep thinking about how much money I spent for this surgery
and it makes me sick that I am shooting myself in the foot.
I don't know how many fills I've had, but probably 5. I don't know
if I need another one even though I don't have to take small bites &
chew, chew, chew. Some things seem to fill me up quickly while other
things I can eat more of. I wonder if I have stretched out my
pouch. I wonder why I seem to be floundering. It's not that I don't
know what to do and yet I don't know what to do!
I think I will try to "infiltrate" Dr Snow's after care group and see
if I can't get back on track. God knows I need to do something. If
anyone has had the same problem and are willing to post, I would
really appreciate it.
