I remember Marsden saying something about diet pills, but you have a tendency to think after this surgery you ought to be "wonder woman". So I, too, am going to call for an appointment. Maybe that will help me break this cycle I have going right now.
When you have a growing child they most certainly deserve better than eating from a box or microwave. You are right about eating what's healthy and eating real food. I think I am going to start on a regimine of eating every 4 hours, not in large amounts, but maybe that will keep me satisfied. I don't do well on Slim Fast. It's probably mental, but I get hungry before I should. I like LC frozens and my new favorite is Steaktips Portobella. Very few calories and the side is broccoli, not a starchy carb. It's easier for me as my husband will do for himself or I'll fix him something and I eat something else.
I'll let you know about the next meeting of Dr Snow's group. I'll make sure I find out when.

Sandy, let me know, and I will be there!!! Mom will probably go to. I guess making an appointment with Dr. Marsden would be a pretty good idea too. He did say that he hates it when patients have the surgery and are never heard from again. Like Kesh mentioned, he also talked about going on diet pills if I felt stalled out. The only problem with Slim Fast, Medifast, and frozen meals, is that I'm a single mom. It's very hard to cook for one child, and I want to be able to cook healthy, fresh foods for both of us. I know the other way is easiest, but I'm afraid my daughter would fall into mac n cheese and microwave ready living too. I don't know. Does anyone have recipes that work for them?

I sometimes wonder if having gotten to the 45-50 pound loss and then just hanging there for so long if I've just lost my momentum. You know, the typical scenario we've had with regular dieting. I'm often eating between meals when not hungry. Some days I eat little or nothing and other days I seem to be able to eat a great deal. I've never started back on sodas (afraid to unleash the beast!), don't eat too much bread or fried foods, but I'm back on the sweets! I've thought about another fill, but is it really justified if I'm not eating correctly?I'm riding my recumbent bike 30 minutes a day, but I think I need to add lifting weights. Dr Snow's group meets on Thursdays (I think) at La Madelaine in Grapevine. I've gotten bulk emails from Susan and she has been generous enough to say it was ok to come to their meetings. When or if I know about the next one I will let you know and let's try to meet there. I know I need the support as well as the information. I knew that this surgery was simply a tool, but I don't think I fully understood, maybe I didn't want to, I would need something more than I've gotten from my surgeon. He did great surgery, but the after care/follow through is crappy! The last AIGB meeting that I knew about and went to was before Thanksgiving. They seemed more interested in us marketing "gift cards" for potential surgery candidates than anything else. All of the faces were new. If there's been a meeting since then, I didn't know about it. Maybe they decided it wasn't worth the time or the drive since there weren't many people there.Let's stay in touch, ok?Sandy

It's Meghan :~) Thank you so much for posting. I am in the exact
same boat. I lost 50 pounds and have done nothing but gain back the
last 3-4 months. I am currently wavering around a 40 pound loss.
I'm drinking soda again, which is a major cause, but I don't seem to
ever feel satisfied. Some days I feel uncomfortable after two bites,
and somedays I can eat an entire plat, including the bread. I've
questioned if my pouch has stretched, but just don't know what to
do. I guess I should be going in for another fill, but hate that
dissapointed feeling I get from everyone else knowing I've gained. I
agree that the support group meetings were very helpful, until I had
another engagment on Monday nights. I wish they were still going on,
because nothing is better than having someone there with you. I
think the most helpful thing would be recipes of things proven easy
to eat, and high protein. My problem is the high protein foods are
the hardest for me. (That's why my entire family loves your pot
roast recipe. I can't thank you enough for that!) Any ideas from
the moderators? Do we know what happened to the meetings? Should we
be going back for fills?
Thanks for posting Sandy!!!
