Dee,
I didn't eat the mush stuff for very long, maybe a week or so. I could eat more than the recommended amount too until I had a fill. But I lost weight that first month anyway.
I would be careful, but you may not feel a real difference until after your first fill. Or it may take more than one to hit your sweet spot.
I was banded on June 8th, have lost 40 lbs and have hit my goal weight. I do not eat anything low fat, low carb, whatever. I just eat normal food, but a lot less.
Good Luck!
Sandi

I had the surgery on Oct. 18. I've lost 5 pounds!But....I haven't been
following the mushy food part of the diet that the doctor wants his
patients to follow for weeks 2-4 after the swurgery.I chew my food
really well and I have not thrown up or anything. I am concerned that I
might have stretched my stomach part because I can eat more than a 1/4
cup of food. I feel like I can eat the amount I was eating prior to the
band. I lost 8 pounds prior to the surgery and have another 35 pounds
to go. I am so worried that the band isn't working or I've hurt it in
some way. Has anyone out there eaten regular food just 2 weeks after
the surgery?????
