Many thanks to everyone who has been and still are an Iyengar yoga
student at The K-W Yoga Centre. There are so many places to study and
practice yoga. Those of you who have remained loyal to the work
of B.K.S. Iyengar, your loyalty is greatly appreciated. If you come to
Iyengar yoga classes to maintain and/or improve your good health or to
help remedy a particular ailment, hopefully you will continue to do so
in 2008 and beyond.
If you add a consistent and persistent yoga practice to your New
Year's resolution, there will be increased improvement in the
physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of your life. The more yoga
that you do the better you will feel!
In the words of Gandhi: "Be the change that you want to see in the world."
And, just like Gandhi, practice AHIMSA (non violence), PEACE. T'is the
season.
On January 19, 2008, Marlene Mahwinney will teach a three hour
workshop at The K-W Yoga Centre. Marlene is a senior IYENGAR yoga
teacher who heads up the Yoga Centre Toronto. Marlene has been to
India to study with B.K.S. Iyengar every year for more than 15 years,
and she has been an Iyengar yoga teacher for close to 40 years.
Marlene's knowledge of yoga and yoga therapy is extensive and deep!
A three hour yoga morning with Marlene will provide enough yoga input
to work on for the year until Marlene returns the following year in 2009.
GOOD NEWS! Good news for Canada. GEETA IYENGAR is coming to Canada.
Geeta will teach at the Penticton B.C.'s Trade & Convention Centre
from May 1-4, 2008. Geeta Iyengar will be hosted by IYAC (i.e. The
Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada). For more information please

Hi everyone,
This is just a short note to remind you that Marlene Mahwhinney will
be coming to the KW Yoga Centre for a workshop this Saturday, January
19, 2008!
Marlene Mawhinney of Toronto, Ont. is one of North America's most
experienced teachers of B.K.S. Iyengar's method of yoga. Marlene has
been teaching Iyengar yoga since 1985, and has made 14 visits to Pune,
India to study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute
(RIMYI). She has her Senior Intermediate Level III Certification.
Marlene is the Director of Yoga Center Toronto, where she is the
senior teacher and runs the Comprehensive Teacher Training Program.
Marlene has been an active executive officer of the Iyengar Yoga
Association of Canada (IYAC) for many years, and she is the liaison
for Canadian practitioners studying at RIMYI. We are looking forward
to her visit to the KW Yoga Centre on Saturday, and we hope to see you
all there!
