I am a 40 year old male and just found out that my right knee has a
torn ACL ,this would explain the buckeling out like rubber, I go in for
surgery on NOV 7. My surgeon has advised me that mine should be
repaired ,somthing to do with him grabbing my calf with my knee bent
and their being alot of play or movement. I am having cadaiver parts
installed as he mentioned that the sucess rate is the same as taking
one of my own but with out making a week spot on me.
More back ground on me I was involved in a near fatel motorcycle
accident as a result I do not feel my lower right leg or my mid
section, I have foot drop and it is obvious I have lost alot of thigh
muscle (out side. Physical therapy is hindered as I have 2 screws
holding my SI joint together but one of them is going right through a
nerve, it comes out on the 29 of this month.
Would like to know for those who have had the ACL surgery - how did it
go - your recovery time - things I can expect that Doc isn't telling me
yet and what can I do to speed recovery etc.. Any and all info. send
it my way either on or off group - thanks so much!
